President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

What exactly sets Saudi Arabia apart except being bigger with more oil and, therefore, with more income and more influence?
Their participation in 9/11? The hijackers and mastermind being Saudis? The KSA sponsoring terrorism and spreading Wahhabism across the ME and Central Asia?

If they can't find a biscuit maker they have to close, breakfast is their best offering.
You are right. I have always been surprised any Hardee’s can survive with the money made from largely breakfast. After the AM hours the place is dead for the most part.

The U.S. Consumer Is Starting to Freak Out

"Mikhail Andersson, owner of First Class Tattoo in New York City, has seen signs of weakening demand. After it was cleared to reopen from lockdowns in the summer of 2020, his business was slammed by customers flush with unemployment insurance payments and stimulus checks."

Heaven forbid they use the free cash for food,rent,bills,etc...

True, but not surprising at all.

That's the way it always works. Go look at tuition increases at the time lottery scholarships were implemented.

I remember that well. My son started TN Tech the first year of the lottery scholarship, can't remember if it was tuition alone or combined with room and board but cost went up slightly more than the lottery scholarship amount.

One interesting stat was apparently cellphone purchases were flat the last quarter. Cellphones can be considered both necessary and a fashion statement. One leads to replacements because of battery issues and support and the other leads to purchases because you just gotta have the newest thing. Cellphones are a market in between self sustenance and pampering yourself, but not in the high ticket range like expensive jewelry or a car. If there's an economic impact canary, this might be the one - have to admit it was something I never thought about before.

Or no one with an ounce of sense wants to shop at bed bath and beyond. That store sucks!

I've been in bed, bath, and beyond with the wife years ago. The place looks like it was arranged by a Tasmanian devil with a scattered brain. My impression - no way I'm going to process this mess to find what I might want - if it's even here.

Who knows for sure. If not for their oil, we probably wouldn't even care much about Islamic countries if their people stayed home and didn't try to bring Islam with them, and we likely wouldn't pay them much attention if they kept their terrorists at home and away from us and others - particularly allies. Of course they do have oil - lots of it, so that tends to change things a bit; I suppose it's a matter of opinion as to whether that is considered involving ourselves in their affairs. Two big factors that influence buying oil from Islamic countries - OPEC, and Islamic countries were founding members - cartels are just a nice name for international price gougers. They also tend to get uppity and cut off oil when they don't like something going on in the world. The other is that Islamic countries go to war with each other and disrupt oil supply.

Overall, nations ruled by a religion can be difficult to live with, and I've noticed that one of the major sources of unrest around the globe has been rooted in religion. Religion is essentially a good thing; but like most good things when taken to extremes, it shows a very ugly side. It's always seemed ironic to fight in the name of a peaceful god or a religion. You might say religious zealotry is a killer. Personally I don't care much either way about Islam itself, but I am offended by their treatment of women as second class subjects and their inability to be self moderating (Ca va Charlie? Toujours mort). And, of course, there's that mostly peaceful bunch of raving lunatics in Iran who feel the need for nuclear weapons.
Your description of them as a group sounds pretty much like any other set of countries, to put it briefly.
