Be careful what you wish for...
Honest revolution can only come from within and not from without. It takes people who have suffered under the past to change to something better, but in most cases even that goes wrong. We as a country had a revolution and came out strong and prosperous probably because we were a nation of individuals not members of a tribe or a domineering religion. One place that you and I actually agree is that we have a poor track record of helping with revolutions and putting new players in place; the communists probably did a bit better with their global revolutions because communism requires a totalitarian at the top. Change initiated from without is likely doomed from the start.
We're wasting our time dabbling in Islamic countries; we'd have been better to simply pound them back to the Stone Age and let them put some pieces together ... probably a rinse and repeat cycle because you know as long as religious nuts (of any brand) run things, it's going to be screwed up.
