I'm still trying to figure out how they knew Trump had these documents when they had zero idea Biden had been holding classified docs for years? It's situations like these that lead to people developing conspiracy theories.
Valid question. I can only speculate but it could be one of three things:
1) Trump took something with him that was acute in some way and which caused the intelligence community (and therefore the archive) to actually sit up and take notice it had been taken;
2) The sheer volume of what he took was enough to put it on the radar;
3) Someone in his own camp ratted him out.

So you are admitting Trump, himself, was told to return them and that Trump personally refused to do so, over and over again.
Interesting.
That's not true. They are minimizing it, giving the old "Joe isn't being malicious with it" type comments. Get out of town with that. With trump, who was the only one in this conversation to have had declassification power, it was the worst thing in the world. It's not the same with Biden. They are even claiming it could have been planted. So spare us.The difference is, NO ONE in the Dem party is saying that's okay. Dems, many in office now and prominent, are criticizing him for that and saying there should be an investigation and let's figure out why this happened and whether there was a compromise of national security.
The GOP, on the other hand, has just a very few people willing to criticize Trump. The rest either run away and hide when asked about it or, worse, try to justify it with lame-ass arguments that Trump could have anything he wants because as ex-POTUS he can retroactively declassify. Just beyond moron level to make that claim.
But there it is. The Dems admit it was error and Biden is at fault and let's fix it. The GOP tries mindlessly (I mean that, literally) to defend Trump.
The GOP is absolutely a pathetic lap dog to Trump on this one.

“I’m very concerned,” said Sen. Jon Tester (Mont.). “We have to get to the bottom of it to find out what the hell happened, why it happened,” he said. “This is about national security,” Tester added, saying investigators need to find out if “it put our national security at risk.”
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) blasted the lax handling of secret information as “unbelievable” and “totally irresponsible.”
“When that information is found, it diminishes the stature of any person who is in possession of it because it’s not supposed to happen,” Dick Durbin said. “Whether it was the fault of a staffer or an attorney, it makes no difference. The elected official bears ultimate responsibility.”
You are wrong. Quotes from prominent Dems on Biden:
That's the Senate Majority Whip saying Biden is ultimately responsible for this. You simply will not find comparable statements from equally-prominent Republicans as to Trump. And we all know why...

Considering there's no way they (the big Dems) want Biden anywhere near the '24 race I think is the main reason for this stance. They don't want to make too big a show of it as they've all been running cover for him even before the election. As Cackles might possibly be even worse than Biden (which is saying a LOT) it's going to be interesting how this is going to be handled leading up to the next election.
Did you vote for Biden in 2020?I'm not a Biden fan, do not want him to run again, and in a primary would hope I have alternatives. He's too old for the job and too accommodating to the left on certain issues when he should be more moderate.
Can't stand Kamela Harris or Buttigieg and would vote against either if given the chance.
I am far more more centrist than you seem to think and I join in criticizing Biden for having those documents. I just think only a fool would fail to acknowledge the differences in the overall situations and how each responded to the issue.
Ah the arbitrary qualifier of "prominent" while trotting out Jon TesterYou are wrong. Quotes from prominent Dems on Biden:

Bidens is much worse as he doesn't have the ability to declassify. Much worse situation. Same for Pence.I'm not a Biden fan, do not want him to run again, and in a primary would hope I have alternatives. Hank Johnson threw out the idea that it was planted.
Rep. Hank Johnson suggests classified documents ‘planted’ in Biden office
Here they are laughing at being asked about it.
Take a lap LG.
Here is further proof, as if any was ever needed, that not one single person in the entire Biden Administration could pass an ECON 101 class.
