I don’t care about the pitchers. I’ll trade prospect pitchers for excellent position players all day.

Murphy= career .684 ops at home and .820 on the road. I know Oakland is far from a hitter’s park.

Jake Mastrionni of Locked On Braves said on yesterday's trade podcast that the Braves value defense at the catcher position and that he thought that AA and the Braves did not think that Contreras was going to be an elite defensive catcher and that is why they made the deal for Murphy although Contreras might be a little better hitter than Murphy at this point.

Yes. I think so. He made strides behind the plate but still wasn’t very good. Boom or bust hitter so I’ll take my chances for a more sure thing that is elite behind the plate.

Willy also has terrible stats at DH which may be nothing but the numbers are what they are

We aren’t getting a top 10-12 pitcher in return so we wouldn’t be better for next year. Which is the point.

Lett someone pay him then. We are trying to win a World Series and I want Max on my team. The probability we get a pitching prospect that turns out as good as Max is like 10%. This ain’t MLB The Show lol

You have to pitch. I’m not saying that. I’m saying I will always, always trade pitching prospects for proven, controllable Position players.

It’s not so much the trading of prospects as much as we could have gotten more for those prospects
