The Atlanta Braves

While I'm a little disappointed in what was given up to get Murphy (also disappointed in that somehow Adames wasn't part of the return) I think this increases the likelihood that Max gets extended before he has a chance to become a free agent. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but I don't believe that AA would trade away that many of the upper tier of the organization's pitching prospects while not having a plan for how the major league staff will look for the foreseeable future.

Maybe I’m an idiot, but is Murphy going to be that important defensively we give up Willy and our three best stuff starters that’s above Low A?
Sean Murphy does not make ATL significantly better for 2023, but did make Braves much better for 2024, 2025, and with an extension, beyond. Willie was not going to be catcher#1 as a Brave and was not going to be good enough to play LF regularly. Muller was a good depth piece as a sixth starter and may develop into a long reliever, but expendable for the right deal. Tarnok stings, but I think they believe Vodnik is the better option.

Anthopoulos and the front office really need to hit it big in the next three or four drafts to replenish a barren farm system.
There is a finite number you can draft and Braves tend to pick potential high ceiling pitchers and college bats for trade capital. The biggest plus going forward is this being the second full season back in the international pool. The farm will get better at the lower levels pretty quickly.

Essentially 3 of the best QBs in CFB this year... Hendon, Duggan, and Williams... Have pretty direct routes back to Leach.

An icon gone.

What a bummer day.

As we were texting 90-95% of FBS coaches run some variation of his offense. Just insane

1) Grissom/Anderson/Shuster for Adames

2) Trade Rosario to Angels for Aaron Loup

3) Sign Benintendi to a 1 year/$22M deal with $3M in incentives

4) Cut Ozuna

Win the East again
