The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

11 penalties by the Eagles and Titans still down 28. Vrabs got it going on.

Downing is the man. Big raise and extension coming.

Offensive line is offensive. But that's OK, we might win more than we lose this season. Maybe. I think. I hope.

Being happy with mediocrity is our thing.
After the Commanders inevitably collapse, they will finish the season with 0 wins against teams with winning records. Just not a good team, just a weak division.

That doesn't make me feel better at all. We're trending the wrong direction have have been the last two years. I'm not sure what we do to improve.

Most likely I don’t see any changes because the Titans can keep winning an awful division much like Hollywood refuses to stop making the awful Michael Bay Transformers movies because Hollywood cares about making cash mainly not the quality of the movie because if they did then multiple bad movies and terrible movies wouldn’t get sequels.

Fire or demote Downing. It could always be worse I guess but the way the offense is right now that is not likely.

This offense is so damn frustrating that I’m thinking of the 2010 Volunteers before they made the change with Bray as the Volunteers QB.

WTF does that mean?

Seriously?

So anyone criticizing the president must be prepared to throw their hat in the ring too?

I mean seriously man, this is a forum to discuss the Titans isn't it. People are going to have opinions........ Even some you disagree with. If you can't handle it go find a safe space.

Based on a quick look at his posting history, he has no problem criticizing all kinds of things I'm going to bet he has no real experience with.

That’s actually a good comparison. Those 2010/2011 offenses without Bray were horrid. But there’s no backup QB coming to save the day for us this time, unfortunately.

We’re going to have to count on the defense to win us 2-3 more games. Although with the way things are going that might be a tall order.

everyone wants a scapegoat and Downing fits the bill. We don't have the players. That's the problem.
For the record I'm not big on Downing at all but I agree, there is absolutely no way to judge his performance here with any degree of intellectual honesty because the rosters he's had have been lacking, this year especially.

Im not sure this is totally true. Downing was OC in Vegas and Carr had the worst year of his career. Its not like there isnt some sort of precedent set.

You can't judge him by anything other than what he does here. I agree he wasn't great at the raiders but their GM situation wasn't great either.

I don't buy it honestly he is a top 5/10 coach in the NFL and in one of the easiest divisions with one of the safest franchises in the league. I don't know how he'd even consider taking a demotion even for his alma mater considering he nature of college recruiting now and god forbid you lose one game and the fans turn on you. I think its just wishful thinking but man what a kick in the nuts it would be for us to lose our best coach to the college game.

Yeah that’s not happening. He’s an elite NFL coach and no one wants to deal with recruiting and the transfer portal. Every year, all 85 guys are free agents and might leave at any point

That was a long time ago. Downing has a terrible offensive line and no wide receivers. Outside of QB, OT and WR are the most important positions on offense and we are probably bottom 5 in the league in both of those categories.

Everyone in the AFC South lost yesterday, so our chances of winning the division remain at 98%.

I think we'll finish 10-7. Sweep the Jags and complete the sweep of the Texans and entire AFCS.

Most likely yes because the Titans get to play the hapless Jaguars, and the awful hapless intentional tanking Texans that are vastly worse than any 2-14 Houston Oilers teams, and the had talented players 2013 Texans that lost 14 consecutive games an impressive awful feat after a 2-0 start.

While the Titans do have offensive issues including mainly scoring points in the 2nd half and scoring touchdowns as shown in 2 consecutive losses vs the Bengals and High Flying Eagles I still believe it’s a realistic possibility they win 10 games with 4 games left in the 17 Weeks NFL regular season.

The Cowboys had fun steamrolling an outmatched Colts team that did play pretty good before the Cowboys made the game an embarrassment in Dynamite Dallas.
