The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

YOU GOT EM!

While we are trying to find good fortune in scheduling, the Bengals would be a 0.500 team as well if not for the weak NFC South.

AFC South
The Titans are an AFC Team however the NFC South this Season is also a terrible division.
Realistically a team with a losing record could win the NFC South.

Falcons and Buccaneers have realistic chances.
Panthers will be lucky to win more than 8 games, and the Saints most likely won’t get above 6 wins or 6 wins because Dalton isn’t the great Regular Season QB he was when he played for the Bengals, Hill is not the 2nd Dynamite Drew Brees, and Winston has to be a game manager instead of the Gun Slinger aka another Brett Farve.

No doubt. This is a great year to draw the NFC South

The difference between you and me is that I'm not defensive and I accept reality.

The Bengals are 3-0 vs the NFC South this year (Atlanta, Carolina, and NO) and 7-4 overall. Without those 3 teams, they'd be 4-4. This "analysis" is from a Bengals fan.

Lulz. I gave you facts to refute your analysis and acknowledged your point for 2022 season. You are just wrong about the other 3 years you tried to lump in there.

No, their division was weak then too. Granted 2019 the Texans were pretty decent, hence the Titans falling to a more pedestrian 9-7. See how that works?

Nice to see you can recognize a weak division when you see it as in the NFC South circa 2022. Unfortunately it won't help my Bengals 'cause their fellow AFC North rivals all get to play those same 4 teams in the NFC South. It might even cost them come tie breaker time in the AFC since NFC records are not one of the tie breakers

Titans sure don't suck. As I said earlier, they're a tough well coached team. My Bengals were fortunate to beat them yesterday. I am envious of the division they play in.

Yes, we are extremely fortunate to be in a division where Amy Adams is the sharpest owner in the mix.

Can we please pick up Josh Dobbs?

PLEASE make him our back up

We have NOTHING behind Tanny

You want a backup that has played in more games (6) than Willis and still has less completions, pass attempts, passing yards, and rushing yards and hasn't played a snap since 2020?

FTR, I wasn't pushing back on the notion of the AFC South being down this year. I was for 2019-2021, though, as they placed 2 AFC playoff teams in 19 and 20 while missing by a 0.5 game in 21. This year, the division is weak, and the Titans most certainly are capitalizing.

But your post pushed the notion that the Titans wouldn't be competitive "in most other divisions" since Luck retired (2019). They have a winning record vs the teams from "most other divisions" during your arbitrary time frame. And beat arguably 3 of the top playoff teams last year during the regular season to earn a #1 seed - LAR, Buffalo, KC.

The 2019 Titans weren't pedestrian because of Houston (they split with the entire division). They were pedestrian in the 1H because they were starting Marcus Mariota at QB. They started 2-4 under Mariota, and then went 7-3 under Tannehill. Then made the AFC Championship game beating 2 other AFC division winners.

Bengals should do better than 1-2 against the 4-7 Browns and the 3-7 Steelers so tiebreakers aren't a concern.

Might have been the worst clock management I've ever seen by the Colts

Saturday is not another Tony Dungy.

Colts fans can be less depressed because the Pacers are a good team that realistically can make the Playoffs.

A moral victory for the Colts since they had a valiant comeback Vs a rebuilding Steelers team.
Kenny Pickett played terrific since he scorched the Colts defense, and he wasn’t playing safe at all.

The Steelers Colts Monday night game on tvs in the Texas Roadhouse I work at.

I don't buy it honestly he is a top 5/10 coach in the NFL and in one of the easiest divisions with one of the safest franchises in the league. I don't know how he'd even consider taking a demotion even for his alma mater considering he nature of college recruiting now and god forbid you lose one game and the fans turn on you. I think its just wishful thinking but man what a kick in the nuts it would be for us to lose our best coach to the college game.

I really like Vrabel and I think he is a good coach, but I just don't think he is nearly as irreplaceable as others apparently do. He doesn't know offense. He's a great rah-rah type of coach who I'm sure players love playing for (which I believe is evident by the way his teams play), but I don't see him ever winning a super bowl without an elite OC.
