They should...and UGA whipping LSU would give them the excuse they'll want in order to do it. Alabama would have a loss to a 4 loss team like us yet we can say we whipped that 4 loss team that beat them on top of winning the head-to-head match-up.
Agreed and this should happen. I cannot see that LSU offense doing much in quarters 2-4 against GA. Their only chance is to get a lead early.

Wondering why I’m not reading a bunch of stuff on here about USC needing to fire Alex Grinch and their db coach for getting trucked by every Utah ball carrier. But especially Grinch.

For the record, Alex Grinch’s defense gave up 27.1 ppg this season. In the Pac12. So he’s terrible, obviously?
Because we aren't USC fans. Ask every OSU fan their thoughts about Grinch. It's the only reason they felt Utah had a chance at winning.

Interesting take. Maybe accurate. Would mean lsu and scar are both 4 loss teams around around 20. Which should mean something since apparently they value losses as much as wins. Tennessee loss comes vs #1 Uga…. Bama’s
Second loss comes against….. Tennessee. Seems like a no brainer who should be ranked higher🤣😭

Rooting for Kstate and Uga to blow out both teams tomorrow
Don't give me hope. I will say this. It is fun to put my Orange Bowl tickets on hold because there is a chance! These last two years have given me hope for Tennessee football for the first time since beating Florida, Georgia and Northwestern in 2016.

Now that's interesting. If Michigan were to lose by 24, would they drop below Ohio State?
Please let this happen. Then you have to apply the same logic as TN vs Alabama. Well you beat team A but lost to team C, but team B has a better loss than you (aka you). It’s the insanity logic.

Oh and even better, Michigan lost their Heisman hopeful, so again, they must be dropped because they have an injury.

Really? So Grinch went from being a good DC with lesser talent to being bad with better talent?
I was told no one has failed up like Grinch. He was hated at OSU. Lincoln Riley has kept him around but he Oklahoma had a bad defense under him. He probably got a raise taking that bad defense to USC.

He did well at Washington St but it could have been part luck or part expectations being different.

In LA they say, Grinch’s wallet grew three sizes that day.

Can’t be that terrible. Only gave up 4 more ppg than Zach Arnett at Miss St who I’m told is a defensive genius

Thanks for posting. Love Voltello, tells it like it is.

I want to add perspective as briefly as possible from an old guy. I played D-1 for a minute in the old Southland Conference 50 years ago (telling, I know). Back then there were 13 scholarships IIRC. Less now. There was no revenue from the sport for the school - it was all an expense. If you had any spectators at a game you were shocked. There was a paid HC and low paid assistant, usually a pitching coach, who also held a regular job. The assistant drug the infield and limed the foul lines. You provided your own gear, the school provided the uni. That's it.

You had fall practice and games for 5-6 weeks. You started early with practice in the spring semester with games extending past the end of the semester in late May. I got into the school and on the team via an academic/athletic general scholarship that was later banned by the NCAA that paid for tuition and books that did not require me to play the sport as long as I maintained a 3.0 GPA or greater. It was used to larget high school student athletes with good academics and athletic upside to fill rosters in all sports.

There were guys on the team from all over the country that were passed up in the draft or just desired to go to college. The later would be me. Baseball was a second sport for me. I had upside, but was not sure that I saw a longer term future with it. However, the scholarship made college happen for me so I jumped on it. I worked in the summers to have enough to pay for food, gas and miscellaneous needs during the school year.

The time commitment was brutal if you wanted to do well with academics along with having zero money to do anything or provide for even basic human needs unless you took out a loan or had parents who could foot it, which I did not. There were no S&C programs, training rooms, special dorms with food for athletes, etc. So I gave it up, I had run out of energy and cash. I needed a part time job to just live and go to school.

So I hear Tony loudly and see that not much has changed in 50 years for the student athletes in lower revenue sports until NIL came along. The schools and MLB have done very well during the period as revenues increased and coaching improved. I'm past ready seeing it work much better for the players that the rest of them have been using to make money.

Why do those individuals care about storylines over putting in the best teams, as their mandate is

They don't make anything off of it. They don't work for a media company
Because the best 4 teams isn't really their goal. They've proven this year everything they've said in the past is just talk. They'll do what the media and TV want.

Jerry Palm’s updated projections for TN:
Georgia win = Orange Bowl
LSU win = Citrus Bowl (USC would get Cotton)

A PSA from BaldBiker.

Other than the 20-30 likes i have already given out today, I will not be giving out any more, until I get what I want.

Tennessee vs Clemson in the Orange Bowl.

Sorry it had to come to this, but sometimes a man just has to stand up for what's right.

Respect my decision.

Mmm hmm ok. So they are paid off by media and tv execs? Or they just field their calls and shiver in theit boots under threats? Guess the BCS computers that have the same teams in are all told what to do by ABC executives too 🤔

I mean I could see it if the committee were a bunch of actual media employees or something but I don't get this conspiracy that they, for some unknown reason since you haven't mentioned one, do whatever tv networks want. I mean the tv networks would never have wanted tcu in or osu/bama out.

Theory doesn't hold water.
