That is the nature of the position but with that being said the elite will want to come here because of the offense and the exposure that comes with it. Kind of a double edged sword for those guys, play great get seen, unless you are elite in all aspects, set and watch.

WR would be the group where playing time is minimal just due to the fact that our hurry up offense keeps guys on the field for extended periods of time. If you're lucky enough to be in the top 4 receivers, you're golden. The others, not so much.

Bowl game counts as one of their 4 games that they can participate in without losing the designation.

Honestly no reason for any of the RBs to portal...Small is heading into his Senior year, Wright into his Junior and either or both could be gone after next season.

That would leave Sampson and JWT as well as Keith as the only scholarship guys (as it stands now). Ideally I think we'd like to have 5 or 6 on scholarship in that room. We even tried to add a transfer in Fall camp that didn't work out (did the year before with Evans too).

WRs you can have 3 to 5 on the field at a time...RBs usually it's just 1 guy and 2 at most. So it's a position where they want more snaps throughout the year in practice and in games, once those started going to Sampson instead of JWT he likely checked out (unfortunately).

The NIL and portal thing, as we have seen, is changing college sports in many ways that nobody really expected. The thing that bothers me as much as anything is that good players instead of working hard and trying to move up seem to want to jump ship for potential easier playing time. They all want to play on Sunday, I get it but they need to also realize that if they do happen to get drafted the competition is a lot stiffer with the big boys and hard work is a requirement.....they seem to miss that part.

Senior Bowl is more a showcase for lesser visible pro prospects. Famously Pat Mahomes got a boost going into the Combine. Not vital for Belitnikoff finalists with his stats. Maybe he’ll wait for his NFL draft grade but I think it’s a done deal. What’ll influence his draft slot will be the Combine and Pro Day.

Maybe, but if you're not sure at this point if you are going to leave for the draft would you opt-out of the bowl game where you can set the single season receiving yards record?
