Eh. America is probably the most arrogant and entitled country when it comes to the world stage. I love her, but it is what it is. And I don't think we should eat and sleep worry about what the world thinks of us, but a bit of humility and self-awareness is generally a good thing. Why not?
I think you need to rethink this. How can you be undefeated against top 25 teams and have 2 losses against top 25 teams?
I think you need to rethink Tennessee ever being in the Southwest Conference. Our last appearances for the NY6 Bowls
Cotton: 2005 vs Texas A&M (75,704 attendance)
Sugar: 1991 vs Virginia (75,132 attendance)
Orange: 1998 vs Nebraska (74,002 attendance)
So you'd think the Sugar or Orange would be more interested in the Vols appearing there than some other teams who they've had play recently.
Orange Bowl:
Tennessee vs Clemson would be the first meeting since the 2004 Peach Bowl
Sugar Bowl:
Tennessee vs TCU would be the first meeting since 1976 when both were in the Southwest Conference
Tennessee vs Kansas State would be the second meeting ever and first since 2001 Cotton Bowl
Tennessee vs Texas would be the first meeting since 1969 when both were in the Southwest Conference
Cotton Bowl:
Tennessee vs Tulane would be the first meeting since 1967
Tennessee has never faced UCF
Of course the Cotton doesn't have to take the best conference champion of the Group of Five. So that matchup could really be about anyone honestly.

An underdog latecomer telling the world what to call their favorite sport because we beat a bad team just reeks of everything the world says we are.

Happens every year with some team. It’s hard to even watch the bowl games anymore because they became meaningless to most of the players that just want to be in the playoffs because that’s all the reporters report on. Yes, I miss the pride and pageantry of the bowls. Used to watch practically all of them. Now I watch very few. Always watch Tennessee of course.Every year???
When has UT been good enough as a team to complain about anything?
Correct. When Bryce Young was out, I don’t recall Bama dropping but maybe 1-2 spots the entire time he was out and at the time they weren’t ahead of anyone they had loss to lol. Committee just wants OSU and Bama to have a shot at the CFP if USC loses and/or TCU gets smoked.Neither of those things were in the committee’s stated criteria. I’d be ok with it if they were. At least it would make sense.
We can be very unhappy about how Tennessee has, is and will be treated and still enjoy the game. And another thing, what’s this with you acting like I’m Jack Burton, just because I think our guys deserve a better reward for their season than being politicked into having to play a another G5 school? You know that’s not me.
It pisses me off how our program gets s**t on so much. I’m not gonna act like that’s not what happened if we end up in Dallas for the holidays.
Been a long day Vols. Lost a good friend. He fought the good fight but enters into Gods kingdom. And here I am in a hotel room, away from my family, chatting with you strangers. Please pray for my friend Richard. He was a good man with a wonderful perspective and great smile. He has a big family. It gives perspective. Be kind. Appreciate what we have. Bowl games don't matter. Whether the Orange, Sugar, or Cottom. Be thankful. Be happy. Be you. Love you all. Signing off.
