Naw, they quit on several to make us look better to the ncaa. Probably courted the players then thought it would look better without them.

Now Tennessee is unfettered and will have free reign to pursue whomever they want. I personally prefer recruiting to the portal, but overall it’s been very good to Tennessee…

Exactly. Seat at the table? Yeah, down on the end in the kids section. Hard to believe people still deny it. We don't even sit at the head of the table in our own conference and haven't since Roy Kramer was commish.

Personal opinion...

1. We accept whatever bowl they give us.
2. We take the extra practices and use them to better our team.
3. The day of said "given" bowl game...we tell everyone to go f*** themselves and leave.

If we're already hated, let's be truly hated. Might actually help in recruiting too. "Come play for Tennessee. They hate us because they're scared of us".

Rose Bowl should get highest ranked team IF the highest ranked Big 10 team declines. It would be unique and much more interesting to see see than a G5 matchup.

That would be cool to play in the Rose Bowl. That’s a game I might even splurge on tickets for.

I just can’t believe that bowl would pass on Ohio State for a boring Penn State group who beat precisely nobody this year. Growing up, all you heard about was the sanctity and importance of the The Rose Bowl. I can’t tell you how many terrible Big Ten matchups the networks forced on us instead of better SEC games because they had “Rose Bowl implications™️.”

Now they’re ok with devaluing their product, as long as it helps out Ohio State.

This is exactly what I have advocated for years. Wear the black hat with pride. From the players, to the coaches, to UT admin, through the fanbase.

We gain zero by going along to get along. Zero. Meanwhile the cronies continue to gain and entrench themselves.. Call it out and then take all the frustration out on field. Call out the officials when needed - have a fund ready to pay the fines. Just make sure you call out Birmingham at the same time for trotting their cronies out there. What are they going to do, tell us to leave? There would be 2 or 3 P5's make huge offers for us to join within 2 seconds of that happening and Birmingham knows it.

Have some **** pride. Quit going along to get along. UT is an international brand in and of itself. They need us far worse than we need them. 4/6 highest rated TV games this season in CFB - your Tennessee Volunteers.

ESPN can go pound sand. They need ratings and money to survive. Play them for the prostitutes they are.

I cannot wait until Heup has a roster of all his guys. He knows, he's dealt with this stuff his whole career as has Danny White.

Or forfeit their bowl season altogether. Accept or decline. Don't get to pick and choose.

I don't think it is just OSU saying no. I think they go to the Rose Bowl committee and say we have a fanbase that just went to the same location last year. They are disappointed with how the season ended. If you give us 45k tickets we might sell out or we might sell 40k. The committee then looks at this and says we'll PSU would sell out and then some.the fanbase again is hungry for a NY6 bowl and will generate a ton of revenue for Pasadena. Decision leaning towards PSU.
