Not a chance. Hooker would be front runner for Heisman and they rarely if ever jump teams unless they lose. USC has the 56th ranked SoS. We were top ten with oor only loss to the #1. We were 100% in the playoffs if we had won out.

Yeah I don't know how a conference can have a team pass up an opportunity to benefit the conference. If they don't want it then change with the team that you want their spot. You can't have the best of both worlds.

Imagine being Penn State and one of your supposed biggest rivals is asking to let you play in the Rose Bowl instead of a bowl game against a G5 team… that’s got to be a depressing reality check about how seriously OSU takes you.

It definitely does not mean more in the B1G East.

Obviously the top 4 rankings only matter for the playoffs. The rest of the rankings matter for bowls and matchups.

I appreciate the enthusiasm. But the reality is we would all be a nervous wreck for a game that would be embarrassing to lose, with no satisfying payoff if we won.

We gonna dunk on Tulane if we beat them? We kicked them out of the conference 60 years ago. UCF? We just stole their coach and their AD. What more can we have over them?

Not if no one cares to play the game and half opt out because what is exciting about that.

Disappointing? Deserve? In a small way, yes. I’d much rather play Clemson in the Orange Bowl, but it might not happen.
Any New Years 6 game is huge for this program. If ya can’t get excited about that, something is wrong? Coaches, players, and fans need to remember where this program was. Seventeen years since 10 wins?

Things are finally trending in the right way. Great staff, AD, players improving, recruiting getting better, attitude and swagger are back, but if we are disillusioned about a Cotton Bowl berth to the point that nobody cares…..my God. That’s sad.

Someone help me understand how the Rose Bowl can chose the big 10 team it wants should the big 10 champ make the playoff and the Sugar Bowl has to take the highest rated SEC team if SEC Champ makes the playoff. Shouldn't both bowls either required to take the highest rated team or get to chose. Makes no sense.

I’m excited about the stuff you mentioned in the last paragraph, but you can’t guilt me into being excited to play a team that we would normally only see if we paid them to come take a beating in Neyland.

Tillman has been opted out all yr Bc of injury pretty much and they were better without him. If you didn’t watch any games just admit it.
