I see what they are doing I just disagree that they are good storylines. They are not valid and played out.It doesn't matter if they win, it is the fact that they want them to be in the conversation........Tide turns around season (more Tide fans than Vols for example around the country).. Bryce Young comes back for injury to be in the hunt for a second Heisman............It makes for good story lines.
The clock hadn't even struck zero yet, and ESPN had already started their campaign for Bama.
And, they've also started the Bryce Young/Heisman talk. That's going to be their other big push. Not going to surprise me one bit if he wins it again. Thing is, I can stomach that waaaay more than a Bama/CFP build up.
Risk you take if you truly have aspirations to leave. He’s turned down better jobs than what’s available this year…at least as far as fit. Anyone that didn’t get thrown from a train pursuing Auburn? I could have seen Wisconsin being his type of program and they may be jumping for a similar guy reluctant to leave what he’s built in Fickell. Is Matt Campbell the biggest idiot for not jumping ship when he was the hottest name in coaching? Stayed at Iowa St and now nobody is even talking about him.
If college football wants a better product then they need to shrink the power 5 down and create an NFL type playoff system, in my opinion.CFB playoff system is so so so stupid. H2H literally matters non, it’s all a brand contest. The reasoning for putting Alabama ahead of us would be the same as saying the Jags should win the AFC south bc they have a ton of close losses AND they never got beat by 34 like the titans did in Buffalo. Absolutely ludicrous that we will be behind bama and not be in the sugar bowl. I hate realignment, but at least it may bring us TRUE conference standings that have playoff implications, rather than the committee just putting in the biggest brands and who they THINK is good.
All that talk on Gameday yesterday about how OSU changed their defense to beat Michigan, that’s their major focus all off season, Michigan won’t be able to move the ball, etc and then they got their butts kicked at home…feels so good. I can’t imagine how good it feels for Michigan fans. Happy for them and Harbaugh.Feel like Michigan is about to go on a dominant run vs OSU
It is something that they start at the first of each season and do everything they can to make themselves look smart. It is the Mel Kiper syndrome, say whatever you want and say it with conviction then ride it til it dies and then make up something to cover the fact you were just guessing to begin with. It is basically what every sports writer and sports talk radio host all over the country does except ESPN has a much larger foot print than anybody else in the country and much more influence because of the money they make and pay out.I see what they are doing I just disagree that they are good storylines. They are not valid and played out.
Yes. And unfortunately nobody out there calls them on it.Anybody that thinks the sports media of ESPN doesn't have an agenda tell me how many times have you heard about Ole Miss throwing trash. How many times have you heard about any teams fan rushing the field in a bad way. How many times have they ever decided what coach another college should chose and granted we are more vocal than most but have you heard them ever say that Schiano is not a good head coach, no matter what his record is, none because they decided that was what we deserved and we had no right to disagree with all their wisdom. We are the Trailer Park Frenzy, Evil Empire, Mattress Burning hillbilly's in their minds and they just happen to have an avenue to spout whatever rhetoric they choose.
Smart of Fickell, that division is wide open.Phenomenal hire by Wisconsin, word is Fickell asked for a huge salary pool for assistants as well as big facility upgrades for recruiting. The new AD seems to have been pushing for more investment as well. Fickell is a tremendous recruiter as well as developer. Took over the AAC from UCF and became Cincinnati’s winningest coach to go along with a playoff appearance
Has he accepted the job? I know they're pursuing him, just haven't seen where they actually landed him.Phenomenal hire by Wisconsin, word is Fickell asked for a huge salary pool for assistants as well as big facility upgrades for recruiting.
