This is great, but when you look at where the program was at usc and Tennessee, then taking over at OM the stats are pretty respectable. USC was down 15-25 scholarship players and Tennessee was a dumpster fire being mismanaged at the top with two or three guys on the team who would of started for other teams in the conference that were top 5 at the time.

Ole miss is a joke of a program with a high school stadium. Two or three years they were respectable with freeze, but were recruiting with hookers, drugs, and money.

The only other time they were respectable since 1990 was with Eli.

At least tell the entire story when you start throwing stats out like this.

Y’all worried about wind gusts….wind gusts don’t affect a football thrown at 100mph
It sounds funny...but it is actually true to an extent. The wind will have much less effect on his passes than they would high floaty wobbling ducks.

It's the rain that worries me...a slick 100 mph fastball gonna be hard to hang on to.

I’d tell Colin Deaver all that but I don’t think he’s on VN

geez AP not sounding too positive about this class finding any more players for ESD. sounds like we're done.

not sure we can afford to overlook anyone. i dont have much confidence in the portal.
Why not? We'll actually be able to attack the portal this year. Remember last year we weren't allowed to do crap.

This year will be a lot different in the portal imo. Some big names will move around to winners and NiL payors.

If you have ever seen Mike Wright throw then you know the wind gusts would destroy his passes lol

I know many on this board thinks they are the KC Chiefs all of a sudden but the weather plays into our hands. Let them run it.

I really hate that espn puts alumni homers on for games!
They did it on on purpose in hopes that it would be a close game or "upset alert special."

That broadcast is going to be unbearable if you're tuning in to just watch a game. They will ensure that it is exciting for everyone else that tunes in to watch an upset.

He inherited multiple NFL players on that UT team and at many positions. Berry, Dan Williams, Monterrio Hardesty, Jacques McClendon, Chris Scott, Jonathan Crompton, Denarius Moore, and Luke Stocker were all drafted in the top 5 rounds. Several had solid NFL careers. Austin Johnson wasn’t drafted but had an NFL career. Then, guys like Gerald Jones, Dennis Rogan, and Rico McCoy were good college players. That team was not devoid of talent.

Posted in a player thread but I’m thinking here it might get some interaction.

Curious what stats back up the DL playing better than it did last year vs the pass? I don’t have those numbers available but I know we have about 10 less sacks than last year. Not sure about hurries, etc

Defense is terrible and injured. Vandy QB will rush for 250 and throw for 200 more. Overthrow Joe still has accuracy issues, especially on the short stuff. Still throws it 150 mph. Passing game will struggle mightily and that's Vandy defense weakness. Save us, Super Coach!

Vandy wins going away 42-23.

You’re talking my language, Bass. I’d add that Volnation reverts to being a cesspool of weeping and malice, demanding everything be burned to the ground and all coaches be fired or given pay cuts. Heupel shoots to the top of the Hot Seat board, and as recruits decommit and players hit the portal we spend the off-season tracking Jon Gruden’s plane.

The DL has been exponentially better at limiting rushing yards…especially from the quarterback position. That’s the referenced IMPROVEMENT from the DL. It doesn’t have to be registered as sacks or hurries. Last season we made every non-statue Lamar Jackson.

Someone posted yesterday or the day before, and it caused concern for me. Milton being our only talented qb that's healthy is gong to severely limit designed qb runs. I pray to God he is not too juiced and has some touch on the ball in the air!
Andy will probably score on our swiss cheese defense, let's see if our O can stay out front.
Last game of the regular season…why in the world would we hold anything back??? Probably will but I see no reason why we don’t unleash the full QB run scheme.
