The season has been great. I was the most excited I’ve been about Tennessee football after beating Bama since the 1998 national championship game. To be honest, I may have been more excited because I was more relieved after that championship game.

Let’s make a few coaching changes and gets some more dudes and try to stay in the running every year.

Game of their lives. Rattler will never play better. His game was similar to a 3 point shooter who gets hot and cannot miss.

I do agree...but our brilliant DC and illustrious DB coach made it really easy for him to get in that crazy rhythm early with those huuuge cushions.

I actually saw a great deal of effort. Unfortunately, I also saw people out of place constantly. South Carolina, several times, including on that 3rd and 20 play, ran the play to cut across the field. Where was the defender? Running down the field leaving the middle wide open.

I said there were some guys really trying. Go watch the game again rewinding and focusing on different individuals, if you still can't see it..

Jogging...avoiding...just kind of standing around doing nothing..

Two men have given up at least 63 points at Tennessee as defensive playcallers.

One is Tim Banks. The other is Howard Ijams,
who is somewhere in this picture:

For perspective, this picture was taken one year before Robert Neyland was born.

Edit: I have to call fake news on myself. This picture would have had to have been after 1893, as that was the year the football helmet was invented.

The point is, it’s been a long time.

While I agree the basic plan and lack of adjustments were not good I think it's also fair to point out the extra curricular were also a huge distraction we obviously didn't handle well.

Combine that with the fact The game felt like a basketball game where you playing a team that's been awful from the 3.. And for this one game their shooting is unconscious. The rim is as big as a lake.

And that's how we get here, imo.

No excuse for that...none. Rattler was known to be able to get streaky hot sometimes. He had played some very good games at Okie...that was the reason for all the optimism going into his last year in Norman...then "good" DCs figured out his weaknesses, and shut his ass down leading to Caleb taking his job.

Our great DC did none of those things. Rattler is horrid under pressure and totally freaks out...so does Banks throw together some great blitz packages to thriw him off early?...nope...he backs off his DBs 10 yards time after time after time in a soft zone while occasionally sending 5 guys in simple easily identifiable plays that we have done a million times this year on film...he made it easy for Rattler to get ridiculously hot by giving him ridiculously easy plays to execute early in the game.

Former Vol Brandon Johnson wasn’t cut from the Broncos but out for the season after being placed on IR.

Brandon made his NFL debut with the Broncos on this past Sunday.
