I’d like to ask everyone that would to pray for my stepdad, my dad passed when I was 9 months old so he’s been my dad my entire life. They have found a mass on or around his bladder. We are waiting for an appointment in Vanderbilt so they can get a biopsy done. It’s so hard to have any peace in this life anymore. TIA
You have mine.

For sure!!! Praying for him now.

I know what you are going through..it's a tough row to hoe, he never promised us an easy way, but he did promise he will go with us alway, through the fire, and through the flood, through the storm and through the night...you just have to hang on to that promise with all you have...🙏

Chicken legs about to get destroyed Saturday. Hooker bout to add to the heisman reel. Going to be a fun Saturday! We need to flip someone, it's about that time....
I think this one might be more difficult than expected. Night game at USC and a win against us would make their season. We'd better show up ready to roll from the opening kick. Just need to make sure we're really physical with them. Hit 'em early, hit 'em hard. Really muscle up on 'em defensively.

Lane Kiffin is not buying the 'Nick Saban dynasty is over' discussion

Kiffin knows Saban will retire soon and he is already pandering for the Alabama job. It is gross actually. Going after Jimbo like he is friends with Nick, etc. He is trying to get tide fans approval. I hope he gets the job when nik retires and I hope Huep owns his azz.

Kiffin would be stupid to directly follow Saban. The next guy at Bama is basically doomed to fail.

A string of 10-2 seasons will get whoever is next fired. It’s national championship in 3 years or bust for whoever takes that job after Nick.

The stats for the basketball game are so bad.

Colorado is not good and the Vols were awful.

Colorado had 19 turnovers.

Vols shot 30 Free Throws.

Colorado out rebounded Vols 47 to 38

Vols shot 25%

You can't win against anybody shooting 25%...that is just basketball.

If this game is anything but a blow out we don’t need to be in CFB playoffs talk, GBO more than fiddy!!

Not sure what this has to do with football 'cruitin, but I think you're over reacting to some of our fans over reacting to a loss to the Buffs. I don't think the majority...the VAST majority...of our fan base feels like you describe. I and many others are very thankful for what Barnes has done to elevate the UT program to the heights that we're presently enjoying. To most of those who really follow hoops knows that these early games are a lot of experimentation with combinations and a loss like today is a teachable moment. A coach can preach intensity, defensive effort and the like, but when a team is "full of itself", it's usually falling on somewhat dead ears. After a loss like this, I don't think Barnes will have any difficulty getting their full attention. I think this team really needed a wake up call. They simply felt like they could roll the ball out there and win by 10 tonight. They didn't have the energy on defense and they really were sloppy and settled for the 3 ball. Didn't work to get the ball into the paint and didn't really attack the rim like I think they're capable of. Mentally, they weren't fully invested today. And Phillips needs to understand he can't do jack from the bench and needs to be smarter with his fouls.

Having said all that, I now return the board to the previous channel an d current topic this thread is dedicated to.;)
If you've spent a significant amount of time here you'd know we talk about everything. It's also painfully ironic that your very next post was about your movie opinions - so much for "I now return the board to the . . . topic this thread is dedicated to."

If you don't fall into the "Barnes Hater" category then I'm not sure why you felt so compelled to be so defensive. Nowhere did I indicate I thought most Vol fans were Barnes Haters. I was very clearly talking about a vocal, annoying minority. And that was relevant to a discussion that had been happening here with some reactions to today's loss.

I was not "overreacting to the overreacting." I was addressing the phenomenon that has happened since the day he was announced as the head coach. The accumulation of years of criticism and unreasonable standards and expectations.

The rest of your analysis on the team and today's loss I agree with and was well-said.

Edit: To really drive the point home - all 5 of your Recruiting Forum posts in the last like, hour, have been unrelated to Vols Football Recruiting. So...

What legitimately bothers me so much about Barnes haters is that they care more about being right than they do about Tennessee winning games or the end product.

It's like a fetish they have for Barnes failing. I don't understand the obsession.

Basketball wins huge games and it's crickets. Lose an early season game when you're breaking in a new group of guys - and your heart and soul big man goes down with a bad ankle injury and that leads to getting owned in the paint - and it's like a celebration. "I tOLd yOu SO!"

Tennessee historically sucks at basketball. We currently have a hall of fame coach, one of the winningest coaches in basketball history, coaching in Knoxville. He's won regular season and tournament SEC titles. He took this program from the bottom of the barrel to #1 rankings.

He's getting players drafted annually for the first time since.... ever?

Go look at Tennessee basketballs historic recruits.
6/10 all time recruits in TN history have been brought here by Barnes. (But I thought he couldn't recruit?) 3 by Pearl, 1 by Martin.

Rick Barnes is building report in this basketball program. He's making us nationally relevant for the long haul. He's making us a destination for a GENERATION of youth basketball players.

He may never have Final Four at Tennessee but if some of you would open your eyes you'd realize we are better in the long run because of him and what he's doing.

Today's performance means the guys need to work on chemistry and forming an identity. It means a big man needs to step up in place of Uros. That's it. 4 months of basketball to be played and it isn't decided in game 2.
Yeah. . . it's not the dislike of Barnes, it's how giddy some are when he has a bad game. They wanna scream, "I was right, I told you so". . . but it doesn't happen often, so when they get the chance, they have to go over the top.

They want to be right so badly that they ignore all facts that prove, without a doubt, they are wrong. That poster is 100% wrong about Barnes and simply can't get past his own ego to realize how wrong he is. Complain like a little brat, but fail to provide a coach that could successfully replace Barnes to their standards.

You'll never hear from them 99% of the year, just whenever the Vols have a bad game or even a bad few minutes during the game.

What they should do is find a coach they like and be a fan of That team. . . That ignore button really does make VolNation a better place.

I have a very dear friend who is a Vols fan. He won't watch a single BasketVols game all season then turn it on in March and get mad. If you aren't a basketball fan just stop watching.

Good lord I knew someone would dump all over the greatness that has been our exposure this season.

MAYBE when you win games...people talk positively about you. And when you LOSE, not so much. Shocking I know. What a concept.

And yet your BVS is soo strong that you're in your straightjacket believing people are sitting around scheming ways to talk us up only so our loss will seem worse.

Good god let go of the BVS McGill. Don't go full Hitler-in-the-bunker. The world is not against you. That's just your ego and paranoia talking. Escape all of that ego and self-talk, the world is bigger than everything you may believe is everything. Shiz doesn't revolve around us.
What a load of pretentious crap...I know what I see and hear, it is NOT made up, you are the one living in delusional happy bubble land...not me.

The same hacks you love so much for "singing our praises" and lauding us as definitely one of the best teams in the country last week, are the same freaking jagoffs shoveling crap and dirt on us as fast as humanly possible because we lost to a great team on their homefield.

They are not telling the whole truth of that game...a very very few like Josh Pate are, but the majority are throwing crap at ys for all they are worth to get somebody else in over us.

I like my chip right where it stays, right there on my shoulder.

😏

I agree
They praise us until one little thing goes wrong and then they go right back to trying to bury us
Tennessee being back in football is a lot more then some people can handle

That closed-throat style of country singing he uses.. hard to see how he took off. I know the 90’s were full of alt-rock bands like that, sound wise. But all of them were better. Third Eye Blind never saw the success Hootie did after that song about crystal meth came and went, but they’re 100x better.

Side note, one of my friends in college’s mom (also a Tennessee fan) dated Darius Rucker when they both were going to USC.
"Closed throat style"..what does that mean?

Pate is an exception when it comes to “sports media” and he has openly spoke of his disdain for the “sports media”.

I like him for that alone, aside from my opinion he is the best college football analyst out there today.

Preach, Brother.
