I doubt there will be enough excitement for a rematch between #1 UGA and #4 UT. A #2 OSU/UM vs #3 UT would be a very desirable matchup, and if UT had played UGA close in a competitive game, I think that ranking would have been penciled in. Vols need to dominate the next three games and hope the dominos fall UT's way. There will be headwinds with putting two SEC teams in the playoffs with the way this weekend played out.
We lost by 14. Oregon lost by forty plus. Playoff committee will put us in if we win out. They have short term memory and will look at overall records and SOS.

Yeah, I think we would have had more PI calls if we had thrown to the players being held. Of course, there was a blatant non-call at the end, so who knows. Regardless, we were out of rhythm from the start and just could not get it back. The receivers looked like they were running soft routes too, but that’s hard to see on TV.
It’s such a precision game—if you’re not feeling it, you’re not making the plays against a team like Georgia.
It also seemed like they cut to commercial every minute and a half 😂

Those plays were there, but I still think the biggest issue is that our offense is too stubborn about pushing the ball deep in the passing game. UGA was willing to vacate the middle of the field, especially in the 10-15 yard window when they blitzed and Hooker usually didn't have a single option to get rid of the ball quick. I blame many of the sacks on him holding the ball too long due to most receivers running 15+ yards down the field. Sometimes you have to just take what's there and be smarter about when you take your shots deep. I think a rematch would come with a much better plan on offense from Heupel.
I was wondering yesterday if it’s up to the receiver to recognize the blitz and adjust. On one of UGA’s blitzes, he ran right by Hyatt. If Hyatt curls, cuts in, or even slants into the vacated area, it’s an easy 12-15 yard pitch and catch. Instead he continued towards the deep safety on a longer route

Doug Mathews points out on his show today that if Tennessee wins out, it will only be the 2nd time in program history that Tennessee has won 11 games in the regular season.

Of course '98 is the only other time and you have to account that were many years in history where the season was less than 11 games, but still shows what an amazing season this still is.

The point is, there is a lot of football left to play this month. We have survived all of our hardest tests, and we have some opportunities to pad our standing. In the meantime, we get to watch everyone else around us fight for their lives.

Given that TCU has had the luxury of playing mostly backup QBs this season, I think they will run into some real tests now.

The PAC 12 teams will all take care of each other.

Lots of spoiler opportunities for rivals in the final week of the season.

The trendy SEC teams on our heels will start taking each other out.

i watched LSU-Bama last night and visited Bama forum this morning.. talk about entertainment.. Saban is tired, he’s 71, Golding and O’Brian have got to go, they are going traveling because the season is over, Sankey does not want them to hire Pruitt back as a defensive coordinator, but they need to do it anyway… 😂 😂 😂

Probably best at this point for Saban to just retire and hire Pruitt as both defensive coordinator and head coach.

The committee has flexibility in which metrics they want to apply and how they weight them. And they will weight the best matchups, because that's the engine that drives everything. There will be little appetite for an SEC-SEC rehash. So assuming UGA, not OSU/UM is #1, they'll have to justify ranking UT #3... which can be done if the dominos fall the right way. But there are too many variables and too many games and championships to be played to know how the dominos will fall.

This list is as of Feb 2022. Not sure if it's been updated since then. Not sure if this bodes ill or well for us. Barnhart was here for a short stint in the AD? I am not sure. Big 10 has three affiliations. Big 12 and Pac 12 have two and SEC has one. One could argue that Slocum is an SEC affiliation.
