I don't understand this talk of Oregon/TCU/USC getting the jump on us--- yes we lost to GA, the #1 AP team, but we've still dominated every other game, and still have 5 wins vs ranked opponents, which WAY better than any of those three--- TCU has had to come from behind at least 4 games this season, including yesterday, to beat a unranked team...
If we win out, the only way we don't get the 4 spot in the playoff is if they are just trying to screw us without justification... the numbers won't add up... But we're UT, so we're kind of used to getting screwed...

Really wish we could have gotten that last TD to make it a one score game... that would have certainly helped us... it still kills me that we let at least 2 TD's go because we overthrew the open WR heading to the end zone...

But they were in straight melt the clock mode. They ran a completely different offense in the second half
I think the pouring rain changed everyone’s offense. They opened it back up in the fourth when it wasn’t a down pour. Defense played great yesterday. Offense was bad.

I just can’t see LSU getting in over us.

11-1 vs 11-2 with one of LSU’s 2 losses being a shellacking at home to the Vols. Other loss was to a middle of the road ACC team.

Vols would have as good of wins not nearly the bad losses that LSU has. Just depends how the committee weighs stuff I suppose.

Hell, if it gets to that point, put all 3 in with the winner of Michigan/Ohio State and call it a day

Their defense dominated us. They also had a great offensive gameplan knowing we would try to stop the run and their TEs. They instead went over the top which they haven’t done all year and we allowed it because of where our focus was. And the environment was insane and the team admitted it affected them.

But back to defense. They played man to man on our WRs and beat them all day. A couple times we had chances to throw deep but didn’t connect. But their DBs were dominant and never missed a tackle
Uhmm..if Hooker hits those 3-4 shots and backshoulders Ced on that INT...you are not sitting here talking about how great their DBs are.

Those misses by Hendon were HUGE in the perception if this game. Any time you play a good defense you have to the opportunities you get...those opportunities are at a premium. The absolute fact is that there were several (not two) WIDE open plays against that unbeatable, insurmountable defense and HH didn't make them yesterday....but they were there to be made.

They are trolling. TCU would get in over us undefeated. None of the other teams would jump us though because of our SOS and only loss to UGA. We will be 4 or 5 next ranking. Once Michigan and OSU play, we move up to 4 and we are in the playoff. The committee doesn’t take out top four teams unless they lose. So us not playing for the SEC championship or anyone else playing for them will not move us out.

Path gets real easy soon once Oregon loses and TCU loses. They both drop one in the next few weeks. Heupel needs to put it on Mizzou, SC, and Vandy now and make us look really good.

They aren’t beating UGA anyways and could easily drop one more. Not worried about that.

I did have that thought too. Feel like we force too much to Tillman some times.
What a sticky situation, if true. Maybe rotate two rotations the rest of the way and feel it out(?)

We just seemed better offensively during that UF-Bama stretch.

Though just seemed off yesterday too. Even that Q1 miss...would have been huge for the rest of the game flow.

There were two calls yesterday that just stunk. The Mizzou/UK/punter incident was the first one. The ball was live. Had Mizzou recovered it they would have taken possession. That the punter was able to recover it and punt it was lucky for them, but no way should that be roughing to tackle a guy recovering a loose ball in that situation. So ridiculous.

The other was the fumble that LSU recovered. That the Bama guy was out of bounds and touched it after the LSU guy had it in his hands, should not negate the LSU recovery. It should rule the Bama guy out as to being able to recover it. LSU made a great play causing a fumble and recovering it, then gets punished and it taken away by the guy who made the bad play with the fumble. Another great big stupid.
Regarding the Bama one, LSU player absolutely did not have possession yet. There was no rewarding the Bama player, he just touched an unposessed ball while out of bounds so the play ended.

The mizzou play was just unfortunate. You have to protect punters, and he was punting. But 99% of the time the punter runs in that situation, so the mizzou player tackled instead of blocking. That was UF level of lucky for UK.
