I was a Braves fan living in the Texas Panhandle thanks to TBS when I was 11-16 years old...that was before they were good.

I was either going to be a fan of the Braves because of TBS, or the Cubbies or White Sox on WGN, or the Mets on WOR.

I picked the Braves because of Dale Murphy.
My little league trading card listed Dale Murphy as my favorite player.

Man, that was a long time ago.

Honestly, think it’s gonna be something like 42-24. VOLS

THE only two ways TN loses is, if we can’t keep the pocket clean and TN beats themselves with turnovers.

Don’t think Georgias offense can score at will, although those TEs they have are really good.

If TN comes out clicking on all cylinders, it could get Ugly for Georgia.

I’ve had this convo several times since the Bama game, it shouldn’t have been that close, we should have beat Bama like 56-28. But I think our nerves crept in towards the 4th qrt, and we made mental mistakes. But I think we’ve learned from that too.

We CANNOT do that against Georgia. And I’ll go on and say this, I don’t think Georgia is as good as Bama is.
You forgot the third way we could lose.

The refs.

Mark schlabach on pawl finebaum just said if any allegations against Tennessee are true then we better appreciate this year……

Does he know something?
Thought we were pretty much good
He's a Georgia grad. He's helplessly hoping the hammer gets dropped. News flash Mark. It won't.

Lmao...he's a UGA homer....of course he is gonna say that. Nothing major will happen to us.

Mark, Spring 2021 wants its narrative back.

Also, there is no way in Hades that Danny White would have gotten the green light from our administration to put out that NIL video today if they were even the slightest bit worried about NCAA problems.

It's weird I feel Bama would wipe the floor with Georgia, but I also feel like this isn't as good of a matchup for us. Especially with it being on the road. The TEs will be a major mismatch for our defense I'm afraid. I feel like Georgia's secondary and linebacker play will be better than Bama's and we aren't going to get ANY borderline calls.

SIAP, but this is unique. Vegas only does this when they are EXTREMELY confident. Makes me nervous.

I don't think that's going on here. There are a couple of teams and Tennessee is one of them where the metrics and algorithms that are used to predict things just don't apply very well. Essentially for any statistical model to be credible it has to have an adequate sample size. Tennessee's sample size is weighed down by an extremely bad recent past. Typically the more data you feed a formula the more accurate a picture you can paint but in a case like this the more data you input the worse a team like Tennessee will look to the formula.

OTOH, a team like UGA, tOSU, Clemson, BAMA etc have been performing fairly consistently over the past 4-5 seasons. When you analyze those teams it's much easier to glean real information that is applicable to the current season because you're not dealing with extremes.

Vegas doesn't bet a single game vs. the fans. They bet all games vs. the fans. Anomalies like this are built in and accounted for because there's always going to be a teams like this in college football. Even getting hosed by bettors on bets of the week is baked in. Fans and gamblers ascribe all sorts of voodoo to it but all they care about is the end of the fiscal quarter - how they get there and whether or not they get hosed on a single big game is entirely irrelevant to them and how sportsbooks function.
