They have 18 four stars and 4 three stars.that 1 point higher average isn’t insignificant.

but again, I haven’t criticized our class. I love our class. I just thought we’d have more momentum down the stretch after our start and we just don’t.
Ok, it's not that significant either considering the qb in our class....

I think there's plenty of momentum. We just won't see the results of it for another couple months...

We’re being out recruited by Florida. That’s frustrating.

17 of their 22 commits are from the state of florida. 247 lists the state of florida as having 9 five star players and 72 four star players. Their success shouldn't be surprising.

The disappointing thing is that it seems there are guys in the state of Tennessee that are pushing guys to anywhere but here. Hopefully, we can keep winning at a high level and change that.

Copperheads don't nest. Snakes don't chase people.

Copperheads are also extremely clumsy movers in the first place. So if there was a snake species that chased, it sure as heck wouldn't be that one.

Edit: I will speak nothing more on the matter. I just feel compulsed to address absurd misinformation about reptiles. I understand people feel strongly about what they remember and perceived and myth that's been passed for generations.

There you go, talking out of your a$$ like you invented the encyclopedia and everything in it.

“While they usually hunt alone, they usually hibernate in communal dens and often return to the same den every year. Beane said that populations in the "montane" (a forest area below the timberline with large, coniferous trees) often spend the winter hibernating "with timber rattlesnakes, rat snakes or other species."
Copperhead snakes: Facts, bites & babies

And you’re right about the chasing part, mostly. Snakes don’t chase people, at least for no reason. Snakes largely try to mind their own business, like the majority of the animal kingdom, unless they feel threatened or starved. I picked up plenty snakes as a child that were minding their own business and never once felt scared or threatened by them. That said, we unearthed a large rock, with multiple copperheads under it (who are ambush predators), who probably were very surprised (just as we were), felt cornered, and were probably not too happy when we dropped the rock in fear, and they absolutely chased us up a ravine. I’m not really afraid of animals (expect horses for some reason-mainly that they’re friggin huge), but that day I was terrified.

I’m not saying it’s a common experience, but it happened. And I’m not spreading misinformation. And maybe it’s unfair for me to characterize them as foul because of the one close encounter experience I had with them, but it is what it is and that is one species I will not come within a few paces of because of it.

How many 5 star players do we have on the field now..............I rest my case.
Which would make you think when we DO upgrade the talent what we could do with them. Those 5 and 3 point wins over florida and Bama become 10+ blowouts with similar talent levels. Recruiting AND coaching matters. Got to have both and luckily for us Tennessee fans I think we have both for the first time in AWHILE…

Rewatching the 4th Q of the Bama game. It really was impressive how Bryce Young kept them in the game. Both drives we were getting some serious pressure on him and his pocket presents and scrambling were big for them the last 3 drives. Just watching that quarter for the third time really cemented to me that the defense was right on the cusp of some huge key stops at the end but Young just made some really good plays.

Levis won’t be able to do half of what Young did. Bring pressure and rattle him at the start of the game and don’t look back.

A nest of copperheads? You claim you saw multiple copperheads at the same time? Why are you just flat out lying?
I’m not. I know you’re the proverbial instigator and smartazz on this board, but read a freaking book why don’t you. And just because you can’t believe someone has had an experience that you haven’t, doesn’t make it untrue.

Because that 3 point win becomes 10+ with similar talent. Our margin for error gets bigger. Plus we won’t have a super senior team every year like we do this year which also has played a big role in the success.
Nah. We should stop recruiting all together and have a roster equivalent with vandy. talent doesn’t matter!

I'm not saying recruiting doesn't matter but we as fans can only speculate what the staff sees everyday. It's fun to guess but it appears they have a fair handle of where we are at . Sometimes attitude means more than talent.

And Notre Dame, and Texas, and LSU, and Miami. The only one of those schools without a coach in his first year there is Texas. And Texas just blows.

I'm curious as to how much NIL is the reason. I KNOW it's the reason Miami has such a good class.

I agree with that. Sometimes it does. But it’s certainly possible not every four-five star is a snob bad character player as well. I like our 23’ class. It’ll be a good launch pad to build this program forward
