If the gf and Burrell told this exact story to the officer at the time of the incident seems really hard to believe they would’ve arrested JM.
Yeah I don't know. I'm not an expert but I would guess it's pretty rare for the cops to make a judgement call on self-defense at the scene based on witness testimony. Even the witnesses said he punched him outside the apartment, hence the lawyering in that statement to explain why that still counts as self defense.

I think as soon as JM left the scene and dumbass McGoo called the cops, he was definitely going to jail regardless. I think his mistake wasn't that he didn't talk to the cops, but that he didn't call them in the first place and tell them he punched a home invader.

Bro he was cleared. Does it really matter what you think. From every thing we’ve seen he won’t be charged, which is great for the kid.
He still has charges. Doesn’t matter what you think. I didn’t say he was guilty of anything, lol. I merely said at some point this guy did fall down the stairs, which apparently is being refuted by people now.

What upper echelon recruits is Tennessee looking at for the 23’ class that are uncommitted. Our East rival in Gainesville is probably going to land a big fish today. We need Georgia to hammer them this weekend to try and loosen the momentum

VQ guys said that "most of the hay is in the barn" for the 23 class, gaining a lot of momentum and doing a lot of work on the 24 class.

But, we still have some guys we're trying to reel in for 23 - Hobbs, UK commit Keith, Ramil were the ones that they mentioned.

I do think we will have some opportunities to flip, BUT this isn't like recruiting of old where you just really have to go all out for the class. We can save some spots for guys we think/know will transfer, or surprises that end up in the portal.

🤦‍♂️...come on man..."expecting 12-0" is ridiculous.
Maybe “expecting” isn’t the right word. How about this… I truly believe this team is going undefeated in the regular season. I think we’re better than everyone left on the schedule, including UGA. Maybe I’m wrong but I believe that to be true. Now if we lose to Georgia I’m not going to kick a bucket of lightbulbs or anything. Of course, It’ll still be a great season.

Maybe, but when you are chugging a bottle of vodka while being interviewed but the police, I tend to believe that he may not be telling the truth. That is my gut reaction at least. I bet Jaylen will not get charged with anything. Didn’t mean to say you thought he was guilty. Just came out wrong

I think it will get drop or lessened to a misdemeanor. I was leaning more on the side of misdemeanor but now I feel like it will be dropped completely.

It would completely ruin the start we had…. Just like 2016 is tainted bc we lost to South Carolina and Vandy after our hot start. I don’t think that is going to happen though.

It's all a matter of chronology and order of events. But objectively 8-4 would be a good season in Y2 no matter how you jumble it up.

The thing about 2016 is the expectation was 9-3/10-2, so going 8-4, regardless of the order of events, was a disappointing year.

This year the expectation was 7-8 wins. Iirc Vegas had us at 7.5 and FPI had us at 7.6 or so. So 8-4 would still be a solid season, especially for Y2.

Not that the ending wouldn't be disappointing, but I get what Enki is saying. With THIS start to the season, nothing can happen that would make it a failure of a Y2.

Losing to Vandy would.

See what I'm curious about...is do we know that they didn't try?

Guess I'd want to read the arrest report. Did the police arrive and the victim was still lying down at the bottom of the stairs in a pool of blood? But then also wasn't the victim the person who called the police? All confusing...
Was it not reported he was holding a bottle of Vodka while being interviewed by the police? You would think if he was knocked down steps then that bottle would have busted at some point and after getting his teeth knocked out the last thing he would be looking for was his bottle of Vodka.

Show me the report where a witness other than the drunk guy states he fell down the stairs.

At this point at best we know there was blood at the bottom of the stairs and the GF and another witness were helping him at the bottom of the stairs. The rest is speculative, which was my point.

A former KPD officer friend of a couple of us on here, retired earlier than planned recently. He said that he could not continue working for a PD that did not have its officers' backs anymore. He never felt that way when David Rausch was chief, who is now Director of TBI. So I expect more of this type BS until the good people of Knoxville decide to elect better mayoral and council representation, if they ever do.

The officers who did not investigate this incident as they clearly should have, would have been immediately disciplined by Rausch. You always interview any potential witnesses on the spot unless they refuse to cooperate, which is then noted in the report. Jaylin did exactly as he should have done by waiting on his attorney to give his side of things, especially in the current environment.

JMO - Simpson is after money, he was wanting paid for being an azz and causing the incident. He thought they would pay him to walk away.
This. The Knoxville mayor is pushing away many good KPD officers. This isn't meant to be political just an observation from policies and actions

This is my favorite part, when the VN lawyers and detectives come back out.

Do not forget VN also has Drs , coaches ,recruiting experts, copperhead finders and travel agencies , VN is your one stop shop

I have to disagree. I think every player and coach on the team would say it's extremely disappointing to finish like that. As people have said, expectations evolve with new data. We have new data.
That's like saying if you're 14-0 and lose the national title game that's a disappointing SEASON.

People are missing that Enki is talking about the SEASON not some section of the season. He's talking about the full picture from beginning to end.
