It's laughable this guy talked to police while drinking straight vodka from a bottle. Would McCullough miss a game if this was the Tuscaloosa, Athens, or even Columbus police department?

Must have been cheap vodka in a plastic bottle if wasn't broken in his "fall down the stairs".

Wait, did that football player just hit me. I'd better get this un-broken bottle of booze, it's half full.

The police acted based on one guy's unsubstantiated claims. Tank no commented and immediately retained counsel. UT swiftly investigated, reviewed the evidence, evaluated all sides of the story and felt the circumstances didn't warrant the charges filed. So Tank wasn't suspended by UT, allowing him to remain with the team while the student conduct process was completed.

He was cleared by the university, but will not play without admin approval. And while UT and counsel have been working to have the felony charge reduced or dismissed, that has been slow going. The legal hold up is not on UT's side, but the "unavailable to play" is.

What DA is holding such a tight grip on these charges with all the facts in their possession? That is complete BS. Willful negligence or its purposeful and neither situation is justifiable.

I guess situations like these explain why people speak out against and claim discrimination by Law Enforcement. If the cops took some drunks word WHILE HOLDING A LIQOUR BOTTLE over my sober son, I'd be LIVID and raise hell. Absolute garbage!!!
EDIT: this case both people were the same race. but when you do a complete butchering of “protect and serving” of course it would open up questions of “maybe it had to do with race”. And I wouldn’t blame them at all because situations like JM makes no sense.

Does the Knoxville police department realize a better football team will lead to more tax dollars being collected which could lead to more funding for them? Yeah football players have to follow the laws, but Knoxville is the only SEC school where it seems like the players have things happen to them like this.

I've had a similar situation in college and the police officers diffused the situation and took everyone home.

I disagree with you on this..10-2 would be disappointing just because of what COULD be if we go at least 11-1, but it will not be devastating. I mean..this team still has deep flaws that the offense mostly covers up because it is so elite.

All it will take is for that offense to have a mediocre game and UGA will beat us, and Kentucky CAN beat us.

I think Kentucky is a better team than Pitt, and Pitt almost beat us exactly because the offense had a hiccup game.
I think you misunderstood me. 10-2 would still be a great season but considering where we are now it would still be slightly disappointing.

Now 8-4 would be devastating.

So in other words, he's not playing on Saturday?

In my experience the folks in special education classes weren’t going to catch up with the others. He’s an adult but that doesn’t mean he has automatically outgrown any issues he had previously. I’m just saying that before we condemn him for not representing us the way we want let’s consider his limitations.

10-2 would only be slightly disappointing because of what the team has done to this point. I think that it's not fair to discount the whole season if we dropped 2 games just because of the timing of the games.

There currently is an excitement of a SEC champion game/CFP playoff possibility, but I'm just going to root for it to happen and not hold it against Heupel if it doesn't happen in year 2.

I didn't sleep well. Probably gonna be off my game all day. Just setting realistic expectations for the level of juvenile humor I will be bringing in here today. I appreciate Byron picking up my slack.

I'm not going to **** on the cops. I'm sure they all kept quiet. I will, however, **** on the DA. This conflicting series makes this an improbable conviction unless we have video that suggests the victim is the truth teller... You know, the guy holding a bottle of vodka while he submits his report.
