Ultimately I think Hesiman voters will see who Hooker beat and how he played against them and that'll matter more than total stats.

Hendo vs top 25
@ Pitt: 64.3% 352 total yards 2 total TDs 0 ints
vs UF: 78.6% 461 total yards 3 total TDs 0 ints
@ LSU: 63.0% 295 total yards 2 total TDs 0 ints
vs Bama: 70.0% 441 total yards 5 total TDs 1 int

CJ Stroud vs top 25
vs ND: 70.6% 224 total yards 2 total TDs 1 int

Hendo will face 2 or 3 more top 25 teams before the regular season is over (depending on how South Carolina plays before our matchup with them, which they should be able to beat Missouri & Vandy).

CJ Stroud will face just 2 top 25 teams (Penn State & Michigan) the only other team that could be top 25 he'll face is Maryland.

So when the voting happens Hendo will have faced 6 or 7 top 25 teams vs CJ facing 3 or 4. If the numbers are close I think it's pretty reasonable to think Hooker wins it.

Current totals
Hendo: 70.6% 2093 passing yards 18 TDs 1 INT 315 rushing yards 3 TDs
Stroud: 70.0% 2023 passing yards 28 TDs 4 INTs -9 rushing yards 0 TDs

If we go 11-1 or better, how much will it take to keep Heupel at UT? It can be argued that no other coach could have accomplished as much with this roster and the situation he walked into. Somebody will come knocking with a big contract. It will take $8 million+ annually to put him in the top 10 in college football, and that will still make him 5th in the SEC. What do you guys think?
I don't giva💩...pay him WHATEVER it takes. I have always heard that in CFB "Is all about about the Jimmies and Joe's, not the Xs and Os"

Well Heupel has blown that 💩 out of the water.

Success will be dictated by how effective Kentucky can be on 1st and 2nd down running the ball. If Rodriguez can get 4 or 5 yards on those early downs and keep them in 3rd and short then they'll lean on ball control and running the ball even more.

Our strength has been between the tackles when we're not forced to have secondary players make tackles in space. Gibbs did almost all his damage on the outside against us, I don't think Rodriguez is anywhere near the RB that Gibbs is so I like our chances to contain him more.

Mississippi State hasn't shown to be a good defense against the run, even before Kentucky they had given up 200 rushing yards to LSU & Arkansas already. We took Bama's legs out, so they played pretty uninspired and tired against Miss State, Gibbs only got 10 carries in that game. It's the best the bulldogs have looked against the rush, but it's because they were able to generate sacks on Bryce and Bama simply gave up on running the ball.

This is why I am more confident that we can stop Rodriguez. Our rushing defense is good but it’s really, really good between the tackles.. and that’s where Rodriguez likes to run. He’s not even half of the back that Gibbs is when he tries to run the ball outside. He’s still hard to bring down 1 on 1 outside of the tackles but he’s not nearly as fast and shifty. If it weren’t for some really nice cuts and sidesteps by Gibbs in the Bama game we would have got him in the backfield multiple times where he instead got a nice gain out of it. Rodriguez isn’t doing that.

The Vols will use the same overall game plan on both sides of the ball they've used all season. We will stop their run game, we will pressure the QB, especially when they are inside the 20 on either side of the field. We will keep receivers in front of us between the 20's and we will take advantage when Levis makes a mistake with the football.

On offense, we'll spread them out, make them stop the lateral passing game first, run on their base front and throw it over their heads when they commit safeties to the wrong area of the field. Kentucky won't stop our offense. They will get yards and score, just like every other team we've played. They just won't get nearly enough for it to matter.

Good morning Vol Nation!

I had my 60th birthday yesterday. Earlier this year, when my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I told her I wasn’t sure. Mainly because all I really wanted was to see a dominant Tennessee football team, and I knew that it was going to happen.

So here we are celebrating life, and our Volunteers!

Got to play golf yesterday with three good friends. They are all Aggies. They are truly happy that we are winning. When the Aggies first join the SEC, I gave them a tutorial on every member team at the time. They have realized that my tutorial was very factually-based rather than from a Dislike of the other teams… Currently, they are so beat down that they don’t even want to talk about the Aggies in football. I know a lot of y’all think that the Aggies are a cult, but that’s the way we are perceived as well. As a whole, their fan base is the closest to ours.

It was a good day!

It’s going to continue to improve as this Saturday will expose kentucky as they are decimated by our Volunteers.

A belated happy birthday to another of the Vol brethren with a River City origin myth.

Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee
"As the Vols light up scoreboards this season, its highest-wattage star is slot maven Jalin Hyatt. The scary thing for Tennessee opponents is the Vols have been playing largely without their best receiver, Cedric Tillman. Hyatt followed up his five-touchdown performance against Alabama with another two scores against UT-Martin last weekend. His deep-ball speed will have scouts interested and he’ll continue to get chances to showcase it in a Tennessee offense that doesn’t have an off switch."

2023 NFL draft prospects rising after Week 8 of college football - Sports Illustrated

Likely still out
Christian Charles
Obviously still out
Warren Burrell

Everyone else should be good to play maybe not full amount of snaps (Tillman)
I bet Charles is an emergency situation. He could play but why risk it if others can hold it down to beat Kentucky and let him be ready for Georgia.
