Where is all this talk coming from how Kentucky won’t give up explosive plays? Literally the majority of our explosive plays came against them last year. Their defense does not scare me at all.

The Vols will treat Kantuckee the same way they treated LSU. It will be over by the half. It will be on par with the beating that we put on them in 2014. We are a terrible match-up for Kentucky.

Carolina Jackpot is a Gamecock fan who streams some games and chats with people. He did the Alabama at Tennessee game. The final 6 minutes are pretty good. He goes from seemingly happy that Bama misses the field goal to being upset and turning off the stream when we win.

Same guy who ranted after the SC game in 19. He’s not one to be limited by reality. 😅

From a talent standpoint Callaway could easily be where Bru or Keyton are this year. But he's definitely got some maturing to do and I hope he chooses to remain here to do it, because once his number is called he'll be producing without a doubt in my mind.

Squirrel and Walker are both going to have big years here as well I believe, from all accounts they are just as hardworking as Hyatt.

Holiday probably has the best chance at being a Velus Jones Jr. type of player for us, but I think he's behind a tad since he didn't start playing WR until coming here.

I would love for Hyatt to return, but with the sort of season he's having and the buzz he's created I think he'd be smart to get drafted as high as possible off what will be a pretty impressive Junior campaign.
Yeah I think Hyatt will get a 1st or 2nd rd grade. So we will need a new slot, and I would assume Keyton will replace Tillman next season.

I think the depth chart will end up something like:
1. Bru McCoy
2. Walker Merrill
3. Kaleb Webb OR Leacock

1. Ramel Keyton
2. Walker Merrill
3. Chas Nimrod OR Spillman

1. Jimmy Holiday
2. Jimmy Calloway

Guys that will have active roles and I don't yet want to stick them somewhere: Squirrel White and Cam Seldon.

When Heupel took over…… he said that you can’t judge his defense by yards given up bc he expected to give up a lot with our style of play…. He said that he judges his defense by negative plays caused, turnovers created, red zone defense…. Judging by that criteria, I feel that our defense has played good in every game except Florida, and Alabama. What do you think about that?

I didn't remember him saying that part about yards given up but I do remember him calling out the pass defense multiple times this year so far.

Oh Lordy - 200 pages (and a week) behind! I'm reading as fast as I can!

Make your Georgia fan drive and you can sit in the seat and scroll all day long.

He was about to cry lmaooo. Real rival fans like him know what Tennessee being back means for their programs and they hate it. (Except for dumbarse Dawg fans they don’t know what’s about to hit them.)

exactly

UK runs a ton of 3 man fronts. Pretty sure its their base.

So that structure really struggles with speedy receivers, RBs who can catch and getting to the QB at times. You need speed and legit coverage skill. To run it well you better be good in the secondary and you need big corners who tackle well ( we saw them last yr) and you cant be big and slow in the front. UK is exactly that outside of a couple defenders. There's a reason they have been good against the types of offenses they have seen but we are nothing like that as we know. We will completely torch you vertically and in the screen game so those DBs are stressed the entire game.

that structure almost always has to bring linebackers to get a pass rush and that makes you pretty vulnerable against us if you don't get home. Luckily, we have a pretty good OL for that. Yes this defense can work against spread run teams but if that team is able to run at all then the 3-3-5 is in trouble. Ran for 5.4YPC last yr against them. Everything else opens up big time. Also we have good guard and center play right now. So if they run a 3 man front you have some combo of guys like Carvin, Spraggins and Mays getting a hat on LBs.

Any way you dice it, Schematically this is a really bad matchup for the Cats. Like big time. I've noticed teams have beat their defense to the edge a lot as well. They are not the fastest defense but it's an aggressive defense in its design so you can take advantage of that with a good playcaller and QB. And we have the best.
