I guess coach Simpson didn’t see it that way though. Volquest GQ is saying Simpson refused to shake Heupel’s hand at the end. I didn’t see it so I cannot confirm.

Well that's a lie completely. They did a quick drive-by handshake, neither was interested in chatting.

Simpson allegedly had some things to complain about AFTER Heupel had moved out of ear shot. But I think these coaches just have to get over it honestly. Heupel is nothing but respectful towards other programs, but on Saturday he wants to absolutely drag your ass, if you let him he'll hang 100 in a heartbeat even if you're the school for the blind/deaf, you sign the contract to come play the Vols you better be ready.

Obviously something is going on.

I've fallen prey to calling names, and, agree its pretty sad. Dude puts himself out there, and struggles with boundaries. Folks feed/enable those issues by giving him attention he so desperately needs.

Special Education may just mean he was behind in classes.

He is an adult now. And in charge of his own life. The decisions he makes, will be held to account. Including any boundary issues, potential statutory, or, firearms issues/laws he may feel dont apply to him. Throwing your hands up and saying 'Officer, Special Ed class!' Works about as well as a soggy paper airplane.
Very Right of Center of you :)

Just my medical opinion as a VFL doc, totally natural for that to occur. Nothing to worry about…😁

However, if it’s due to taking meds to obtain that, well, it’s too late now. It’s going to fall off at any time. 😳

Hopefully it’s the former…🤔
And some of you wonder how those bags get filled.

Focus on Hobbs and a couple others then put all focus on top grade transfers. I wouldn’t even care if it’s a couple high end one and dones.
No idea who will enter the portal, tho. But if we can't get them through recruiting, we'll have to hope that some difference makers hit the portal and choose us. I wonder how much of this is tied to NIL? I have to believe, with everything I've read, we have a healthy collective and money to offer. And we have a good class. I don't want to ignore that fact. But we're down to the last few pieces, and the picture AP is painting doesn't favor us. I'm honestly baffled some of the elite players aren't looking our way. There is no better environment in college football right now.

And I'm just speaking on the current class, not the future classes.

No offense, but... that wasn't obvious for most?

I thought that was a forgone conclusion, and it seems he's lacked support for his situation in navigating the realt world. I don't want to talk bad about him because he's not all there and it's not something he can control, but I also don't like him having influence and representing us. I've always felt like most of the attention he gets is not genuine, but rather people making fun of him.
I think Andy needs a mentor. I nominate @InVOLuntary .

I still don't think we ran the score up. 52 in the first half and the last TD was Fant throwing to Hyatt with Milton in the game.

It was homecoming, a very large number of starters won't be here next year and they were given some fun. It's why Fant got carries and a chance to throw, it's why Gaston Moore was given a greenlight to launch the last pass into the endzone, it's why Milton was throwing even with a lead. Simpson also left in his 1st team deep into the 4th so it was a great opportunity for some of the backups to face starters.

Hell they even kicked a field goal on their last drive to try and close the gap so it didn't look so lopsided. UT Martin never stopped playing to win, and I don't see any issue with Heupel allowing the backups to play to win either. If he had wanted to run the score up we would have seen Hooker throw for another 250 and 2 more TDs.

8 different players caught passes (more were targeted) & 9 different players had carries with a total of 5 players throwing passes too. Had nothing to do with running up the score, it was about getting as many real snaps to players for homecoming as possible.
CJH reminds me more of Steve Spurrier every week. He puts players on the field and expects them to execute every play and if that leads to scores, oh well. Even if we are up 45-7. Opposing teams job is to stop us. You have to get these 2nd team players quality reps--not just runs up the middle.

So if things went "perfect" for the Vols this weekend...here's the results

Penn State upsets Ohio State
TCU drops a headscratcher to WVU
Florida pulls off a miracle and beats Georgia
We thump Kentucky
Michigan State pulls off a miracle and beats Michigan
Yeah but you know who is not beating Michigan? Michigan state. Those boys are cheeks. As the kids say.

I think we're pumping the brakes on letting new recruits into the class. Need to evaluate who we're going to lose to the portal and draft, and what the portal looks like as far as bringing in experience. We get to be selective now.
Not sure how you know who is going to be available in the portal until after the season.

Running up the score on UT Martin may have had something to do with the fact that we wanted Ty Simpson. However, Basilio did some digging and heard that it was because at one point in the recruiting process Coach Simpson said, “I can’t believe that guy got the job” referring to UT hiring Heupel. Word got back to Heupel so I guess CJH wanted to show him a thing or two.

My brother lives in NW Arkansas and has a co-worker who has a connection to Barry Odom and his wife. Apparently, last year the week of the Missouri game, Odom’s wife said that Heupel texted and said he would pour it on Missouri for them.

On Andy, be gentle. Some people were calling him “retard” on social media. On the radio Andy let slip that he was placed in special education classes in school so we may not have the whole picture about his life. He’s a dreamer who loves the Vols.
Truthfully, I don’t want to see him. But it doesn’t affect me what he does. Very cringey , but it doesn’t lessen UT in any way.

That’s dumb. He just sealed his fate that UT will never pay them again for a game, at least while he’s there.

I do think NIL and potential contract language has something to do with lack of movement of current commits, and honestly that's not a bad thing and favors us in the future if true. I don't think the numbers for us are bad right now, I think the staff has to be selective, and I do think a few names we've not heard as of today will pop between today and mid December.
