Bama refs

I still remember the game 3 years ago in Bama. The unnecessary roughness, the stopping our offense to let Bama sub in, etc. Anyone watching that game that didn't come away thinking the refs were biased is just not paying attention. Do I think it will be that bad this year? No, because there will be too much attention this time. But don't expect many calls against Bama.

In your synopsis a 5 yd false start is equal to a 15 yd face mask. And may be only a fraction of penalties committed. And it matters when they occur. They can be meh or drive/score killers.

The synopsis (a brief overview) was a TAMU's fan take on how BAMA leading the SEC in penalties might come into play during their game. His was a simple statement of facts, not a deep dive analysis on timing and severity of the penalties. As he suggested penalties might come into play and they did which gave TAMU an opportunity to win the game.

And after last week 12 penalties Tennessee is most penalized SEC team with 8.4 per game and BAMA #2 with 8.2. But BAMA on the road leads the nation with 12.5 per game for 100.5 yds per game. So, penalties will likely come into play this weekend.

Just score lots of points and stop their offense and questionable calls won’t even come into play

Even though the game is in Knoxville we better forget about getting any fair calls with the paid off Bama refs straight out of Birmingham, AL. The PI calls we have been getting forget about it, Bama will straight get away with mugging our receivers all day and knocking them down. Remember we are playing against their team, their refs and Greg Sankey who hates our guts and Saban is his boy. We wlll see the worst calls all year in our games this Saturday.

Huepel and staff will have their DB's running into each other just like last season. Can you get an interference penalty on your self?

We haven't even played yet and we're already playing the ref card?
Not me bud but it happens. Bummer mafia. Jimbo pretty much told us how it operates. Nickie thinks and is treated like the czar of football by SEC - telling like it is. Been cheating illegally foreva and now since it is above board little nick the narciss gets pissed because he finishes second in recruiting. Screw him.

Tennessee scored on that drive.
So the officials including those reviewing every play in the league office knew Tennessee was bound to score on that drive and there was no need to slow the game down by calling targeting?

Did they also know Moore wasn't going to have any effect on the remaining 53 minutes of the game so there was no reason to eject him?

This one still infuriates me. Any way you look at it, you have to WANT to throw this flag.

Stats to make you optimistic that Texas A&M can beat Alabama

Penalties
Would it surprise you to learn that Alabama is the most penalized team in the SEC? They committed 15 penalties for 100 yards in their win over Texas, and added 10 more for 101 yards against Arkansas last Saturday. For the season, the Tide are the most penalized team in the SEC, averaging 8.6 flags per game.
Obviously they’ve managed to overcome this in all of their games up until now. But if these penalties continue, and happen at opportune times (negating a big Bama play or extending an A&M drive), they could be a part of the path to A&M staying in this game.
Smokescreen.

That, or it wasn't targeting. Definitely one or the other.

Bama player should have been thrown out, no?

I don't think so. The view from behind the play shows the Moore didn't make head-to-head contact. He may have hit Hooker's head with his arm, but there is no view that I've seen that shows it conclusively.

Either way, it certainly didn't slow UT's momentum, which is the argument to which I was responding.

Of course. Pre made excuses. It’s pathetic to see TN fans constantly blame the refs when Bama blows us out. I mean obviously it’s all the refs fault that we haven’t beaten them in forever.

Bama having all kinds of talent and the GOAT head coach? Nah thst means nothing. It’s just the refs.

. Dude take your crimson colored glasses off for a second. We were right in the games in 2021 and 2019 and there was more than a few horrible calls that def had a effect in those two games. The refs helping Bama goes on in every SEC games and to other teams not just us and other fans know it and see it. It’s so obvious been going on since Saban got there. Are you blind man or are you really a Tide fan?

And people don't have orange tinted glasses? I mean, these are the same that were so adamant that Hooker was horse-collared twice against Florida but when presented with the actual rulebook that showed they weren't horse-collars they STILL said he was.

I’m not sure about 2021 but the 2019 game had some absolutely horrible and blatantly bad and borderline calls and game management that helped Bama. I’ve never been more furious about a game before.

First off Bama is my second most hated team behind UF. I realize refs can and do affect games but seriously you arent strengthening your case. You just don’t seem to get it. The refs didn’t cost us those games. You either didn’t watch them or have selective memory. Last year talent and depth cost us the game. Not the refs. Same in 2019. You make it sound like the ends of these games were nail biters that could have been decided by a FG.

They were not. They were blow out losses. You just can’t wrap your head around the fact that Bama has been the superior team for the last like 15 years. You mention 2 stinking games. Wow. Forget the fact that in those two games we were out scored 87-37. Yeah that’s ALL refs.

Asking me if I am a Bama fan is the lazy excuse someone makes when they can’t refute things. Yeah I am a Bama fan because I don’t believe in these made up conspiracy theories that Saban has every ref paid off and so does Sankey. I get it. If we lose Saturday you will be on here complaining about the refs regardless of what actually happens in the game. And you will have some others who will agree with you.

But hey if believing that the only reason Saban wins is the refs makes you feel better, have at it. Just know that not everyone buys into your tin foil hat theories.

Completely agree. But that’s not the reason we lost the game.

Anybody see the refs in the bama-A&M game very quickly stop the game to review for A&M having 12 men on the field? The 12th man (no pun intended) was about a foot in bounds. I believe it was on 4th down and it resulted in a a bama first down late in the game.

I don’t think many other teams get that call.
