Jaylen McCollough arrested

I think you’re confused, high or both. I’m not sure but I’m just going to leave it be.
I think BOT was pointing out the police report stated the discussion outside the apartment was with an "unidentified male", per the guy's statement. Just to clarify.

No ****. So? He's not playing Saturday. Where's the problem?

The problem is Jaylen may be innocent and people are just going to crucify him on the word of a drunken teenager/20something year old without seeing once fact about the case and if he misses a game over a justified punch, That's not justice.

Does anyone know the details? Some of the speculation I’m reading indicates it not being all that egregious.
No more than what’s in the warrant. I think he stands a chance to be suspended a couple of games and still return to the team if the charges get lessened assuming this is close to what happened. The domestic assault guys has no chance.

Knocking those teeth out will pretty much get you every time as will breaking a nose or jaw.
I don't think so. I've seen a few bar fights and it's assault unless someone has gone ham on somebody or taken a tire tool to them.

Busted noses and missing teeth are a dime a dozen on any given Sat night. Felonies aren't.

Breaking into someone's apartment unannounced doesn't justify violence in your eyes either, huh? Who's to say Jaylen didn't fear for his safety and T.C.A. 39-11-611 applies?
39-11-611 only applies to actions needed to stop an immediate threat. If the affidavit is accurate, Zion left the apartment and moved away from Jaylen, which eliminated the immediate threat. Now, the affidavit only presents one side of the story, so it may not accurately reflect the situation.

Well he did a poor job at communicating that. Regardless McCollough’s hand was bloodied and bandaged which was in the report.

Mr. McCollough walked back to the scene with his right hand in bandages and blood showing through the bandage," the warrant states.

Once again, we don't know that Jaylen put himself in that position. It is alleged that he did. For all we know, Jaylen or a roomate forgot to lock the door and this dude came barging in drunk and belligerent and started the altercation IN the apartment. That's not Jaylen putting himself in any situation. We have the statement from someone who professed to be Drunk and that is it.

Its never indicated that Jaylen's Gf or the other unidentified male witnessed the alleged altercation or anything.

Show me a law that says your ass cant be benched if charged with a crime? It's called what happens
Astonishing to me that people think Heupel is going to let a player out on bond anywhere near Neyland. That's not me taking a side in this, that's just what it is at this point.

No one said he’s not legally innocent until proven guilty.

I want to wait until the actual facts come out. Not just the word of someone who so drunk he went to the wrong building. If Jaylen did this as described, cool kick him off the team, but if this kid is lying because he started **** and wanted a payout from a player who probably has an NIL deal or from the AD, then Eff that kid.

He's charged with felony aggravated assault.

Why isn't it simple assault if it was just a punch? That's all a punch is...... if even that.

The fact it's a felony aggravated assault means the cops saw serious injuries or a weapon was used.

It's the felony part that's troubling. The cops had to SEE something to elevate it to a felony.

But people are “over charged” and charged incorrectly every day. Former DAs will openly admit incorrect charges being useful in getting a plea. I do know I wish we had more to go on. He coulda beat the dude half to death for all I know, or he coulda been the bigger stronger guy and knocked dude flat out and was given a charge unlikely to stick. We just don’t know yet
