If Brown wants to play for championships, Les Miles is a very bad choice for a head coach. Richt is an equally bad choice for Charles. Play for the Vols, gentlemen--and win championships together!

That has to be the biggest homer argument that I've ever read . . . but I like it.

Yeah, I mean LSU has ONLY won two titles in the past 5 years....Miles has only won ONE...ONE!...What a loser! :ermm:

Then why are you giving Miles credit for Saban's contributions to LSU? They are parallel to what Butch Davis did for Coker.

Because Miles won a national title at LSU...Saban was already at Alabama and gone from LSU 3 years when Miles won his title...He deserves a little credit....Still not sold on his coaching but he did coach his team to a title.

So did Coker. I know 1st year versus 3rd year, but still, they inherited a similar situation only Saban had already delivered a NC for LSU before Miles. So Miles started with slightly more than did Coker. That just delayed the inevitable Petering out effect. Check LSU last year. They're on the way down.

Well i mean you can take a look at the players and how many actually were recruited by Saban when miles won his title but thats just pish posh stuff...I could have coached those Miami teams to the title game...They were so loaded NFL teams were afraid of them lol...The LSU title was a lot of luck involved esp after losing to Arkansas before the SEC title game and having two losses.

Good points. Also, let's not forget that NC Tiger team was only a pick 6 better than the Vols two years ago in the SEC CG. (injuries... or whatever... none of us would dare compare the 2007 Vols to what we knew as Vols in the late 1990's).

LSU is not what they once were, mainly because Miles can't coach.

I think he believes that we don't have the weapons to surround him.

He's an idiot if that's what he believes. Yeah we had a bad season last year, but it's not like we've been demoted to D-2 athletes. If he honestly believes we don't have the horses to win the SEC then he has no clue what he is talking about and I will lose a lot of respect for him.

I believe he is more worried about what a team can do for him versus what he can do for a team. I think we have had enough of those players lately....

He has softened those statements with compliments and made friends on Facebook with a lot of those horses, so I'm not putting too much stock in that comment.

I suspect he was just speaking about what concerned him (our Oline) and many of us have done the same. The issue is one more of depth. We all admit that and would like to have more horses, or alternatively, to see the ones we have play like we all thought they could before last season.

You could also see his comment as recognition that he knows it's a team sport and that he'll need help to succeed. In other words, the man is humble! :p

My friend who goes to LSU saw Bryce Brown at their regular bar called bogies last night. He was texting me a lot of the time. He said Bryce was not drinking and did not look like he was having a good time at all. He also said that Bryce's friend who went with him on the visit got in a fight at the bar with a LSU student too. He said that he's pretty sure he's going to UT as well.

FWIW

I want this kid so terribly bad. He seems like a very good guy and a great player.

If all that is true that sounds very good for us. I think BB is "interested" in us the most. However, we all know we arent the "safest" pick out of the ones he is deciding on. He knows that UT is a high risk high reward type situation, and going to LSU would be safe.

In the end I have a good feeling he ends up with us because he loves the coaches, and seems to have bonded well with the players.

I would be SO PUMPED if we got this guys LOI...

/crosses fingers

Well - didn't Bryce go to a party during his visit here and they said he didn't really do anything and couldn't tell if he was having a good time or not? But the fact that his friend got in a fight with a student doesn't really bode well for them if any of that is actually true.
