Is The 1/6 Commission Coming?

Liz Cheney on if she prefers Democrats hold House majority: 'It's a tough question'

"I’m going to make sure Donald Trump, I’m going to do everything I can to make sure he is not the nominee, and if he is the nominee, I won’t be a Republican," she said.

What a turd. I have no qualms with her disagreeing with Trump. She is nothing more than the "republican" poster child of a partisan witch hunt now. Signaling she is ready to be a full time republican foil for a liberal network. Glad her and her daddy are irrelevant now.

Hurry up and join MSNBC or The View.

The day before the 2020 election, Roger Stone, the long-time Republican operative and ally of former President Donald Trump, said in front of a documentary film crew that he had no interest in waiting to tally actual votes before contesting the election results.

“f*** the voting, let’s get right to the violence,” Stone can be heard saying, according to footage provided by a Danish documentary film crew and obtained by CNN.

Oath Keepers leader Stewart Rhodes goes on trial for seditious conspiracy over January 6 riots - as attorneys argue that he and others in the far-right group Won't get a Fair Hearing in DC

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes will go on trial next week for seditious conspiracy over the January 6 riots on the US Capitol, considered one of the most serious cases to emerge from the insurrection.

Jury selection began Tuesday and could take several days with the trial expected to last at least five weeks.

The case against Rhodes and his Oath Keeper associates is the biggest test yet for the Justice Department in its massive Jan. 6 prosecution and is being heard in federal court not far from the Capitol.

Seditious conspiracy can be difficult to prove, but conviction calls for up to 20 years behind bars. The last time someone pled guilty to seditious conspiracy was 30 years ago.

Attorney for Rhodes, a former U.S. Army paratrooper and a Yale Law School graduate from Granbury, Texas, and four other members of the violent mob, cannot get a fair hearing in Washington, DC.

Also on trial will be Thomas Caldwell, of Berryville, Virginia; Kenneth Harrelson, of Titusville, Florida; Jessica Watkins of Woodstock, Ohio, and Kelly Meggs of Dunnellon, Florida

Phillip Linder, an attorney for Rhodes, had urged that Judge Mehta disqualify a man who said he has a close family friend who works for a House member and recalled watching livestreamed video of the Capitol attack.

The judge called it a 'close call' but declined to disqualify the man who said he could set aside what he has heard about the Oath Keepers.

GOP Senators accuse FBI of Retaliation Against Capitol Riot Whistleblower

Republican senators are criticizing FBI leadership for alleged retaliation against an FBI whistleblower who has claimed the bureau is creating a misleading impression about rising domestic terrorism figures stemming from the Capitol riot.

Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday, arguing that bureau leaders wrongly punished an FBI agent for raising concerns about how cases related to the events of Jan. 6, 2021, are being handled. The senators included a copy of the whistleblower declaration by FBI special agent Stephen Friend, who says he has been suspended by the FBI.

We won’t get the full story, but it sounds very much like the government had a big hand in escalating the protests and setting up the protestors.

So? What does this have to do with anything?

Seriously? If you don't see the connection and the relevance, I got nothing for you.

So in early November Roger Stone was already plotting Jan 6?

Got it.

I enjoyed this part

In an exclusive interview with CNN’s Don Lemon, the filmmakers said the committee appeared interested in footage that focused on Stone’s relationship with the White House, and also his alleged ties to the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys. The filmmakers said they were not able to establish a link between Stone, those groups and the White House.

lol....
It shows the general mindset of Trumpers regarding the election. The vote count didn't matter and violence was a viable option.

Here's a good mental exercise -
1. Read Stone's quote.
2. Take a step back and clearly consider what type of person would make such a quote.
3. Now consider what type of president would choose that type of person as a source of guidance and strategy.
4. Now throw Bannon into the mix.

There certainly is a well-established link between Roger Stone and Donald Trump. Trump granted Roger Stone a pardon in December of 2020.

In Roger Stone's documentary, his calls for violence may not have been specific to a riot at the United States Capitol, or even to the date of January 6, 2021 ... but Stone clearly did view resorting to mob violence as one viable option towards helping Donald Trump retain the presidency.

I can just imagine what the response from Republicans would have been, if a peripheral figure to Barack Obama's 2012 Presidential Re-election Campaign (such as Howard Dean, maybe?) was on video saying the same things. The way Donald Trump and his followers dealt with losing the 2020 Presidential Election was despicable.

Both Roger Stone and Steve Bannon were confidantes of Donald Trump, who advocated in favor of mob violence, as a means of helping Trump retain the presidency, at various points before and after Election Day, and they were not alone.

This is "The Party of Law and Order", remember?

Who's saying there isn't a link between Stone and Trump. The comment was between Stone/Trump and the Oathkeepers/Proud Boys

Here's one for you
1. be obsessed with all things Trump
2. believe he's the worst and most dangerous person to ever walk the earth
3. take a comment with no context and assume the absolute worst
4. now throw LutherLogic into the mix

Roger Stone is clearly advocating for mob violence of some nature, as a means of helping Donald Trump retain the presidency. Who do you think Roger Stone was hoping to reach with those comments, if it wasn't militant, extremist factions of the right, such as the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys?

Who cares what RS had to say?

Who cares what RS had to say?
You have to remember that the intended audience for those comments from Roger Stone (members of the militant, extremist factions from the right, such as the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys), included people who cared a great deal about literally anything that "Q Anon" said. They hung on every word of Q Anon's 8 chan posts for years.

Of course, members of militant, extremist factions from the right, are going to also care what a confidante of Donald Trump says. You are kidding yourself if you don't think that those comments from Roger Stone reached members of the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys ... and just like with whatever Q Anon said - they took Roger Stone's words very seriously. Not as hollow rhetoric to be ignored, but as orders to be followed.
