Next week's slate does kind of work in our favor for an earlier kickoff:

Auburn at Georgia
Texas A&M at Alabama
SCar at Kentucky
Tennessee at LSU
Ole Miss at Vandy
Arkansas at Miss St
Mizzou at Florida

Once CBS takes A&M at Bama, you've got some games to shuffle in among these:

Red River Shootout, always at noon
Ohio St at Mich St
Wash St at USC - probably a night game for the USC prime time people
Texas Tech at Ok St - feels like a nigh game
#23 FSU at #10 NC State
Utah at UCLA - probably a late(r) game
Kansas State at Iowa State

ESPN isn't going to put Tennessee vs LSU in the afternoon slot to battle A&M vs Bama. They might put FSU vs NC St there.

There are a lot of west coast games that will need the night slots, so I could see us getting slated to noon as the ESPN/SEC alternate to the Red River Shootout. I think that a lot of it depends on how the LSU vs Auburn game goes. If Auburn wins, that's more hype for their game vs UGA, if LSU wins that's more hype for their game vs us.

I believe the other CBS matchup has to be SEC, but I could be wrong.

It does, I was saying you have to shuffle the SEC games among those other games that ESPN would be trying to slot. I didn't realize it was an SEC on CBS doubleheader.

Anytime now. Basilio is hearing from a source that the SEC may exercise its “6 day window”. The idea is that they will wait to see who wins the LSU vs Auburn game. If LSU wins then we play them at 3:30 on CBS. If Auburn wins then it will be UGA vs Auburn at 3:30 on CBS. So we may not find out until Sunday.

Not in the least. And, I think much of my angst was from the fact that he seemed like we settled for him because Danny White knew him. Now, I believe he was the first choice all along and it appears to be the right choice.

I wasn’t that upset bc I 100% trusted Danny White from the beginning…. He is the real deal.

We really missed Burrell yesterday. I know he gets roasted by Vol fans, but last year he got picked on because teams avoided A. Taylor. When Burrell gets beat, it is most often because the other team made a great throw and catch. Very rarely is he beat by a wide margin. Yesterday, there were Florida receivers just wide open with no one near. I believe Burrell would have made at least a play or two that could have helped stop a Florida drive.

You're sadly mistaken. We never roast players here. And if on rare occasions we do, it's 100% deserved.

Btw, I agree with you, Burrell is better than some here realize. Just the latest in a long line of Vols that get unfairly roasted. The good news is, they usually end up in the NFL.
