So if we had jumped offsides and they commited a dead ball personal foul on 3rd and 6 on an incomplete pass it would it would then be 4th and 21 or offsetting penalties or an automatic 1st? If it was 3rd and 4 under the same scenario is a 1st down and then a 15 yard penalty or offsetting penalties? Surely there’s a reason to have live and dead ball fouls.

A dead ball fouls is essentually after the play is over, but since it was offsetting it basically just gave Akron the first and 10.
