Modding is one thing, but the engine is what controls these glitches and gameplay. I mean, maybe they can work some of it out and do more QA testing but a lot of the glitches and everything else are already existing in the engine which is the base of the CFB game. Either way, I won’t really care as i still find enjoyment in Madden even with some these issues so I’ll play it regardless but I just think that would be a huge undertaking to try and build out what they need for the game AND fix the issues existing in the engine.
Yeah that's a good point.

It's common in gaming, well with any licensing/software/solution to release an incomplete project and just fix things on the backend. Get the new product out that's complete enough to sell or subscribe too, and then just roll out updates and fixes over the next however many months.

Come to think of it, our culture in general is half-ass it the first time to see if you get away with it, then come back and fix whatever get flagged. I digress.

Still looking forward to it. The new NCAA games were the best way to get through the offseason.

For the record, Twitter is VERY pessimistic about the EA CFB game. They think it will literally just be Madden with a CFB skin over the top.. which honestly isn’t probably far off from the truth.
Brandon from Unnecessary Roughness had this thought, and I hate him for it, but I can totally see it.

EA adds a new feature to recruiting - you can pay $.99-$4.99 per player in the in-game recruiting to just land the player for sure and not have to worry about doing all the recruiting in the game.

I can really see them rolling that out to rake money in.

Back when I was in high school I was a top 200 player in ranked online. I loved that ****. Haven't bought it in years. They turned it into a souless cash grab, and even had the audacity to put John Madden on the cover of that garbage game this year.
In high school and college we would play Madden for hours. Halo and COD kind of took over, but for a while you would get back from class and play Madden (the best games had cash on the line) for hours and hours. It never got old.

They ruined it with the features. It used to just be "Hey, this is the best that we can do, but here's your field (gameboard) and your players (pieces), and you all play by the same rules. Some of incrementally better than others. Enjoy"

Every now and then you and your friends would have to have rules like no Vick in 04 or something like that, but it was mostly a fair game with limited exploits (that were easily identifiable and preventable)

Yeah unfortunately that’s just the gaming community as a whole. The QA testing that goes into games is massively expensive and time consuming. Companies were finally like, what if we just get it “done” and have the users who buy our product be the testers and then we just fix the issues that get reported? That way they can shrink their QA testing department and overwork their devs on fixing the reported issues. More $$$ in the pocket of the companies. This is one of the big reasons game devs get burnt out so freaking quick.

Oh no, I really don’t like the pay for play. Real NIL, good. Virtual NIL, bad 😂

I’d feel better about it if they were real recruits names and that recruit got the majority of that $4.99 I’m paying to get him in the game though lol

I am sorry but all this Mark Stoops love drives me crazy.

Chatta if you're out there or anyone who has time take a look at Stoops' wins. If my memory is correct no one has built a reputation on wins over nobodies than him.
I'll give him credit for his wins over Florida but many of his 61 wins are not impressive at all.

All this talk about surpassing Bear is quite misleading in my opinion..

61 wins:
30 vs SEC (7 vs Vandy & South Carolina, 6 vs Missouri, 3 vs Miss State, 3 vs Florida, 2 vs TN, 1 vs LSU & Arkansas)
8 vs Non-Major
7 vs MAC
6 vs ACC (4 vs Louisville, 1 vs VA Tech, 1 vs NC State)
4 vs Sun Belt
3 vs Conference USA
2 vs Big Ten (Penn State & Iowa - both by 3 points in bowl games on neutral fields)
1 vs Independent

Of the 61 wins he faced and beat a top 25 a total of 10 times, and of those 10 times only 4 were non SEC opponents, and 3 of those were in bowl games

Any way to filter that out to see what his record vs top 25 is? Not to make any argument, just genuinely curious.

Generally it’s true as I’ve posted before, Kentucky in recent years has often had a pretty weak strength of schedule relative to the rest of the conference.

For reference Bear was at UK for 8 years and not including ties had a winning % of 0.723 and a conference winning % of 0.537, including the 1950 conference championship.

Stoops is in his 10th year in Lexington and has an overall winning % of 0.535 and a conference win % of 0.400.

Coming in to this year UK under Stoops was averaging 12.33 games per year (9 years including 7 losses to Tennessee) while Bear averaged only 11 games per year played in his run at UK.

I think for most reasonable people it comes down to a matter of Quality over Quantity. Nobody, if given the choice, would be hiring Mark Stoops over Bear, but hey, if you don’t have anything else to brag about then go with I won more games out of 115 than he did out of 88. I mean, it’s something, I guess. jmo.

I'm not sold on Georgia just yet. I mean they bashed Oregon, but that was another team that was overrated going into this season who had a first time HC with an inexperienced QB starting.

Really not sure if Georgia will get a real challenge until they face us unless South Carolina and/or Florida give them good games.

I agree, but remember Oregon had Bo Nix from Auburn at QB, not an inexperienced QB... Will be interesting to see what SC can do

I wonder how this team will react after a big win. Will they come out and show how they have matured as a team and take care of business or will they think that they are now world beaters play loose and make silly mistakes. You can tell a lot about a team after a win and playing what should be a weaker team. The ones that seem to win big after it is all said and done tend to be that "steady just doing what we do" team as opposed to the "look at me,ain't I good now" team.

Recruiting is already really easy in 2014. I could be coaching at Wyoming and still land a top 5 class by recruiting the recruits that nobody else is recruiting. Just makes us lazier but that’s a great cash grab for EA. Some fools would pay.

So time to stop the BS on not wanting to wear white in your section or not even going to look to see what color you are supposed to wear. There is nothing quite as impressive as 100k fans checkering Neyland - recruits are not going to get that anywhere else so get over yourselves !
I get the idea behind it but if someone is paying the cash to be there they should be able to wear whatever they want. There just buying to watch the game not dress accordingly. Could be the first time for some people that just come from out of town.

I wish recruiting was more difficult but also wondering how much more time I’d have to spend doing that instead of playing games. Not sure how they find a balance

Random VQ nuggets over the law few weeks:

- Milton will be back on this team. He views himself as the guy for next year.
- AP also views Milton as the starter for next year.
- Jacob Warren expects to be back next year.
- AP thinks Bru will be here for two years (so also back for next year).
- Flowers is likely to continue returning punts.
- Juwan Mitchell will be back for Akron (has hinted that it was a suspension stemming from last year).
- Tayven Jackson did not travel to Pitt for unknown reasons Gaston Moore was the 3rd string QB.
- Dee Willams is likely the punt returner if healthy. He has a shoulder injury.

Other random notes:
- Jimmy Calloway (2 snaps) and Ramel Keyton (8 snaps) were the only other receivers outside the starters to receive snaps last week.
Coaches gotta get these other WRs more snaps
