I think one thing that is slightly overlooked about last night’s game is that even with how many throws Hooker missed and how he continues to have some rust….he still took care of the football. His football IQ does not get enough credit. Our OL was porous a lot of the night and he took some big hits and didn’t fumble. He also continues to rarely ever throw a pass that can be picked off. After 4 years of JG, I have come to really appreciate the small things like that.

Hooker did not look that great in the 1st game. He over threw a couple of wide open WRs in that game. Yesterday he had WRs going to the ground to make catches on 2-3 I know of. He over threw CT by 8 yards. I was hoping that it was just he needs to calm down. I also noticed yesterday he was staring down the route from the time he got the ball. He still played well enough for us to win. The OL did not play well yesterday. I seen where one poster asked if other teams have figured out Heups offense. Right now all I see are the same plays as last years and nothing any different. I am hoping that Heup is not showing his hands until SEC play and plays are going to change. We are seeing screens and long passes down the sidelines, nothing over the middle except the 1 pass to the TE.
I am not saying Hooker needs to be replaced or anything. I think he is trying too hard and does need to settle down. But his OL has to play better. Heup or Golesh said in camp that with Hooker coming back that they were able to really open the playbook and so far they have not turned to that page. I might be wrong but I have only seen 3 different plays in the 1st 2 games the WR screens to each side of the field and the normal run plays and the long ball down the sideline and 1 target of the TE over the middle. I think this offense will be different by the time Fla comes in and takes a beating. All this is jmo and not facts , so no need to fact check me because I am probably wrong on all of this

You need to stop letting your dogs get on VN

Damn Yankees come down here and don't know how to work or leave a grill.

But that win though 👌🏻

Tua still ain’t gonna cut it, but defense is still solid and Tyreek is a damn cheat code. McDaniel coaching aggressive too. Love to see it. This quote from Tyreek says it all:

So last year, when Florida beat us by 20 + and then Kentucky beat Florida, we should have lost to Kentucky by 20+, right?

No, not necessarily.
I just think that we as fans often look at comparable scores when it benefits our team but don’t look at them when they don’t.
Kansas has a good new coach. However, they are still a Big12 doormat. Lose to them, especially at home, and that is a fireable offense.
West Virginia outplayed Pitt At Pitt. If you watched any of that game, you’d have to agree.
Then, after that admittedly emotional loss, they pulled an even bigger stinker losing AT HOME (where they rarely lose) to Kansas.
so, I’m just saying as a rational non orange glasses wearing Vol fan that I am pumping the brakes on making plans for Atlanta in December because:
im not sure how good that either WVU or Pitt are
that makes me not real sure YET how good that we are.
Akron won’t tell us anything.
Florida (our admitted Achilles heel the last two decades no matter the talent levels of each team) hopefully will.
Then we get two weeks to prepare for LSU trip. Oh, please tv network executive, make that a day game when the Tigers fans aren’t nearly as loud (DRUNK) as they are at night games.
Then, if we somehow go into the Bama game undefeated, I will have lost my mind with joy and will wear the biggest orange 🍊 colored glasses ever and nothing else.
Will streak up and down Cumberland AVENUE.
Hopefully 🙏 it’s not cold that day (so as to avoid too much pointing and snickers).

(1) It's good to see other schools having to deal with these "insider" rumors
(2) Campbell could do better than Nebraska
(3) If ISU comes open, you have to think Golesh would be in play there

Campbell has been offered better and turned it down. Does he have some special connection to Nebraska? If not, why would he leave a program he's built, where he has excellent job security, for a total rebuild at Nebraska? Unless he has some special tie to Nebraska, I don't see it happening. It's the equivalent of Grumors.

No one who is a head coach at another Power 5 school is going to leave that job for the mess at Nebraska. So that immediately eliminates half that list.
Seems like a perfect fit for Dan Mullen. The rebuild he performed at Mississippi State can’t be overlooked.

The tight end pass wasn’t Burrell’s man I don’t think…. He did have the tight end leap over him as he tried to tackle him from the side…. He did help cause the int that was deflected to flowers.

Umm no on all of those things….

Flowers missed the tackle on the tight end.

Warren Burrell was nowhere near the play that caused the interception he was on the opposite side of the field and got called for holding on a completely different receiver.

Also, the Touchdown where he was literally holding the guy and still let him catch it to tie the game was Burrell.

Whoops my bad on the first passing touchdown comment. I think I am talking about the deep ball that got them into scoring position on the first drive that they ended up just getting a field goal on.
