The tight end pass wasn’t Burrell’s man I don’t think…. He did have the tight end leap over him as he tried to tackle him from the side…. He did help cause the int that was deflected to flowers.

I’m for it. The cornerback position needs a HUGE upgrade in competition. Even if they aren’t all day one contributors, there has to be some push from the back for the starters. Burrell has hung around and I appreciate his work and performance, but if he’s our CB1, then that tells me everything I need to know about that room.

I think it’s pretty obvious Hadden is our best corner even if he’s listed as the 2nd CB on the roster. I find it hard to believe that Charles is worse than Burrell and hopefully he gets more reps next week before we head into the toughest part of our schedule. I know Williams is hurt, but apparently he wasn’t very good in spring and summer camp. It doesn’t really solve our problems this season, but with Callaway seemingly unable to crack the 2 deep at WR despite his athleticism is there a chance he gets a look at corner in the spring if he’s still around?

Tennessee was sloppy, but also came up with same great plays in key moments. 51 yard field goal. The sack-fumble before the half that set up a field goal. So many defensive stops in the red zone that kept Pitt out of the end zone. Tillman with an up and down night, but making big catches when it mattered most.

Lots to clean up but lots to celebrate

Final thought: Hendon and those three receivers are going to light up some really good team at some point this year. They have been fractions of an inch off on so many potentially huge plays in the first two games. Once the timing is down, they will light some folks up. Just like last year...

Yeah our secondary is terrible. A lot of guys didn’t pan out though. Fields was highly recruited out of HS and pretty much everyone in our secondary are people they brought in and Lawerence transferred out. Regardless I think we have to start Charles and Hadden at corner this week and I think Turrentine needs a lot of reps too. Because McCullough is absolute BBQ chicken outside of the box
