@Enki_Amenra - the most concerning thing to me is LFC don’t appear to have any desire out there, which is not what you’re accustomed to seeing with Klopp’s sides. I’m almost curious if the players have lost hope without a midfield. This is on LFC’s management for not bolstering midfield in transfer market, which I knew was going to haunt us. You can have Mbappe, Halaand and your pick of the litter for third forward up top and it won’t matter if the opposition are just going to sleep walk through your midfield.
Idk much about it, but I didn't expect them to get a 4-1 beating. Surprised me for sure.

Ok fantasy/sci-fi peeps.... I know a few of you are big fans of Wheel of Time. I watched 2 episodes last night and was floored by how dang good they looked visually - 4k/UHD is incredible on shows that really use it. I could see the fiber weave on clothing! BUT with that said can someone give me a primer? I have no idea what the show is about other than something called the dragon reborn (may I say a dragonborn :D ) has been born among the ones being evacuated. The woman leading them out and her order seem like the fantasy version of the Bene Gesserit from Dune but like Dune I wouldn't be surprised if one of the male candidates turns out to the the dragon reborn.

What do I need to know about this show/book series? Right now I feel kinda lost but the visuals are just amazing (I want more shows to look this good!).
When you figure out what's going on in the show let us know

My advuce...quit watching that craphole woke fanfiction garbage and read the books.

The production value is good...but THAT abomination is NOT Robert Jordans The Wheel of Time.

If you like the show...fine, but just know that it bears absolutely no resemblance to the actual beautiful rich story, plac3s and characters.

The acting is good, the production value is mostly really good, but to say it is a "loose" adaptation is an understatement.

The series takes the books and throws them in a wood chipper. There are several of us on here that have waited years and years for them to turn the books into a series and they just took a giant deuce on the entire story within the first 5 minutes of the show. I watched about 2 or 3 episodes to see if they might try to redeem themselves and was sorely disappointed. I will not watch anymore, and it is sad because one of my girls wanted to watch it with me. She had only read the first book and was excited for it. She was screaming at the tv the whole couple episodes we tried to stomach down.

@Ulysees E. McGill , if you haven't given your 2 cents....
Lol...just did...I don't think my 2 cents were as on the money as yours...lol. I absolutely hate the Mfing showrunners and Amazon for what they did to the story I have waited for two decades to see made....they f'n suck....it is infuriating.

I can see that. However, as someone who has read the books and loves the story and character development of the main characters I can't stomach the abomination that they have put out there. Complete opposite on some of the most important pieces of characters of Rand, Mat, Perrin, Egwyn, and Nynaeve. The story loses so much when you do what they did to those characters in the first episode alone. To make it worse, the character traits that they gave them don't even make them interesting. They just make them seem either sleazy or undesirable.
Bingo

This is why I always prefer to watch the movie/show THEN read the books. Cause if you start out having read the book or books you'll be annoyed by what the movie/show leaves out.

I think for me the only movie I loved more than the book was No Country for Old Men.
It's not what they "left out"...it is that they absolutley destroyed the beautiful characters and places. It is a Titanic sized load of woke 🦬💩.

It does bear resemblance. The forgery isn't as valuable as the original, but some folks may like looking at it. Whatever floats one's boats...

I've read all 14 books (listened on audiobook technically) and i've seen season 1 of the show. The books are fantastic and audiobook is a great option if you're not a big reader. Season 1 definitely deviates from the books but if you never read the books i imagine that you'll be able to enjoy the show alot. another thing to keep in mind is that book 1 of the series is about the slowest of them all and things really pick up at the end of book 2 and onward so i imagine season 2 should be good.

Also due to the covid lockdowns and the character playing Mat literally quitting midseason they did not get to do the season 1 the way they wanted. They had to skimp on the storyline and the CGI due to covid. So if you can get through season 1 of the show all indications are that WOT Season 2 should be an improvement and more what the show was meant to be.

With that being said, if you're a book reader and looking for it to be absolutely true to the book lore then it's not going to be for you. it's a 14 book series they're trying to cram into an 8 season project so some liberties are going to be taken naturally.
It has not a damn thing to do with what is left out...they fundamentally changed every freaking character and the rules of the world.

It does not....for instance calling that one dude Mat, or the other dude Perrin, or the other guy Rand, or that gal Nynaeve and the other gal Egwene does not mean they resemble the actual characters in anything but name.

Was not a huge fan of the WoT books. Liked the first 2-3, but by 7-8 realized I was just reading to finish the series without enjoying it and quit. Not worth the monster amount of pages when I could be reading other stuff. JMO

Edit - I also hate Christmas Vacation, so take my commentary for what it’s worth.

I am not Catholic... and I know this is not for everybody, however some of their cathedrals are the most stunning structures in the world.

Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood. St. Petersburg Russia...

I know the Greek church (yeah, orthodox) where they hold Greekfest each year in Knoxville is stunning.

As is the Basilica of Saint Lawrence in Asheville.

Regardless of your denomination, for whatever reason, the catholics and orthodox seem to build their places like works of art. Many are truly stunning.

I grew up going to many presbyterian and baptist churches that were like brick prisons. Occasional episcopal one (in Oak Ridge) that was pretty nice.

I agree..it is my hope is that the decade long paradigm has changed with the league expansion and expanded playoff...

That is why I said...IF they are still intent on keeping us down.
They're not. Never were. Seemed more like we were the ones intent on that...😏

My mistake, this is Russian Orthodox. They would not be happy with me. :)
