Russian milbloggers whining mightily about Kharkiv. Seems the Ukrainian counterattack is making huge advances very quickly. Appears Ukraine may be targeting Kupiansk - and may already be halfway there. If they were to capture that city, Russian troops in Iziyum may be cut off.

With the capture of Volokhiv Yar, which is only 50 km from Kupiansk as the crow flies, it becomes possible to bombard this logistical hub with HIMARS. If you are able to take out the railroads, crossings, depots and bridges over the Oskil river, Kupiansk is no longer a hub at all. And if the supply of Izium is thus stopped, the only thing left to do for Russia is another goodwill gesture.

Russia nuking Ukraine would likely precipitate a proportional nuclear strike from the US and/our European allies. Mutually Assured Destruction is alive and well thankfully, else Putin would have already pulled that trigger.

Nobody suggested a preemptive nuclear strike by Ukraine. And, yeah, Russia always could resort to tactical nukes at a minimum, but the cost/benefit probably doesn't work for Putin.

Russia has bigger problems right now - they're apparently getting mauled by Ukrainian advances on at least 3 fronts.

Yes, that is exactly what you were saying. Ukraine is the landing spot for tactical nukes, this has been known for 30 years, see Congressional Record.

Its not a first option, but at the end of the day that country will be turned to a parking lot one way or another if they don't get on board. There is no win for the Ukraine.

They are never he to debate to be honest. And what's funny is when they throw tantrums when someone like myself throws their own behavior back at them. Of course they don't like a dose of their own medicine.

It's been well documented that this conflict got started after the U.S. decided to get involved in 2013-2014. At this point these guys know it and actually don't care.

Ukraine has not banned speaking russian. Zelenskyy himself is a native russian speaker and was mocked for his accent during his campaign.

Zelensky was elected. Putin, was at one point, sure, but his last real election was a long time ago.

And your authoritarian claims aren’t being taken seriously. Countries resort to extreme measures when being invaded.
