Great time for them. Wasn't huge on their later albums, but the stuff they just recently released is funky and a new turn I'm enjoying.

Never gotten close enough to see them up close like that. Saw At the Drive-In at Shaky Knees and Mars Volta at Bonnaroo '09. Both huuge crowds
That was at the War Memorial in Nashville. Now that I think about it, that may have been a few yrs after Francis The Mute, I can't remember. Saw them at Roo in 09, as well...it paled in comparison to their late night set in 05. They played Francis in its entirety that night, and half of me is still in that field from it.

I keep mentioning Francis The Mute. On that album, they were tapping into a whole other level...something all their own. An absolutely amazing album.

Mutton chops and chubby karate...no half measures.

One of the best martial artists I ever knew was also a ginormous human. He practiced Aikido which has a ton of throws so his weight probably helped but he could move with such grace that it was actually pretty amazing.

Wow. Didn't know they played 05. Would love to hear FTM or DitC in full. Can't even imagine...being conceptual albums and all. What a journey.

09 Mars Volta was literally the main reason why I even agreed to go to Roo for the first time. I didn't get it before that. Also my first ever assit trip. Of course, ever since then The Farm feels like my home away from home. Can't imagine not visiting every couple years, like Neyland. It's like being with our 2nd family when we're there. Just need TMV to return!

I hate disappointment...it means you freaking failed to do what you were supposed to do. I will never understand people with crazy expectations...I don't think unrealistic "expectations" are what I think of as being "optimistic"...I think they are corrosive when unmet and unfair to the team and coaching staff.

I am "optimistic" that we could win 9-10 games given a specific set of circumstances finally going our way for what seems like forever...but I don't expect it because it is unrealistic to expect that much improvement from this defense in particular.

I'm still at 7-5 and staying there...but...I can see how 9+ wins could happen.
We almost completely agree. It’s just that I am optimistic because there is a chance we could possibly get 9 or 10 wins. Last year people were saying 5!!! I won’t be disappointed if we don’t because I realize there are so many things that can go wrong in a season or game. I also realize we haven’t built up depth yet. But it’s fun thinking about watching this team.

But there are some that can’t handle things not going the way they expect. Heck, they can’t handle a recruit not doing what they expect.

Mark Knopfler better solo. really a great musician.

All should now and curtsy to Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, Curtis Burch, John Cowan...Mark O Connor

really nuts those actually played together, classically trained musicians making it to bluegrass, then jumping to rock, country, and sometimes jazz.

Love it!

Bela is the 🐐 of banjo

Tony Rice is the 🐐 of flat picking. A Flippin robot!

Thought this was awesome last night. RIP

Not a great announcer especially during the time I watched him….. still one of my all-time favorites….. they messed up the ending…. He use to say Hey… Hey…. Let’s get some runs- usually slurred bc he was really drunk by the 7th inning….. people talking about Elvis…. Does anyone remember carey talking stories about eating hot wings and drinking beer with Elvis…. They were hilarious.

Disappointment is what you should thrive on…. Set goals high and keep striving to reach it…. Even as a fan I always think national championship before the season starts…. I will keep going over there and cheering till that magical moment I get to witness another one.

Did he also master it in only 3 days?
