A lot of national media members think that Nebraska can make the jump to an 8-4 or better team this year.Nebraska at 25? Does he give insight on his picks? Just curious as everything I’ve heard of Nebraska the last couple years was negative and then they show up on the preseason top 25. Just curious on their optimism.
You think like me. 10 wins if everything goes our way. 6 wins if everything goes against us. 6-10 so probably 8 wins.me too. and it wasn't like we were giving up 3rd & 2. i can't remember how many times it felt like we'd do great work on 1st and 2nd down, get a team in 3rd and long...often...and still give up a 1st. really frustrating.
and yeah, that was really the only gripe i had with CJH last season was some of the time management deals to end halves/games. some of it left me wondering.....fortunately, none of it really mattered to the result of the game, and it's definitely something that can be corrected.
i think 10-2 is the absolute best case scenario, where everything we needed to happen to win big games happened, and nothing bad happened our way.
i think Bama and GA are still, talent/depth wise, way ahead of us. everyone else, i think we can play with, or flat out beat. that also means i can't be shocked if we lost a game to an LSU, FL, Pitt type team. the crazy thing about saying that is, individually, i would pick TN to win each game. but can i pick us to win all 3? make sense?
so i'm at 8-4, but if we get out of Sept 3-1 or better.......look out.....
I think it has more to do with numbers 1-3 being so obviously superior to everyone else, that you just kind of crap-shoot the rest of your pretty good to good teams and hope for the best.Miami #4???

People think Clemson is due for a fall-off, and they have a lot of faith in Cristobal.
I don't think Miami will be Top 10, but you never know. Great QB, lots of momentum, great coach. Never know.
Sankey is always advocating for his conference members, which is him doing his job, I get that. (Even if he doesn't do his job when it comes to making sure that all members are treated equally, but that's another point.)
However, if I were a fan of a program from another conference, I would think that this man is a menace.
He holds all of the cards, and he knows it, and he's just constantly changing the face of collegiate athletics.
He wants to expand the CFB playoff, but with no guaranteed spots for conference winners, so that more SEC teams can get in. Now he's trying to change the NCAA MBB tournament so that more average teams (read: last year Texas A&M) can go.
That's fair...there was a "but" in there somewhere that set me off.To be fair McGill, UTProf listed Elvis in her first post replying to Sugar...
Now if we open it up to pop and soul you gotta include Prince. Michael Jackson, James Brown, Little Richard, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry. And probably Robert Johnson. #oscarssowhite (I keed). For real, those are the guys I think of as the pinnacle.
I think she just doesn't have him as her personal best, but still put him up there. We're all different people. I respect the hell out of Elvis and The Beatles as well as Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones, none of them are in my top 5 for any category of music though. I have my own taste and art is subjective.

Yeah, I hate when people trash other people. And they are usually trashing those they could not hold a candle to. My nephew was in a talent show in 8th grade playing guitar with a really difficult song, and the crowd was so impressed. We were standing in the lunch line, and I heard another 8th grader tell him he missed a note! This 8th grader could play a little but was nowhere near as talented and didn’t even think about getting in the talent show. Kinda like the ones who could never play college ball but want to trash those who do.100% AGREE! I hate when the board delves into these discussions - well, I don't mind the discussion part but hate the judgmental part - like, "such & such is trash." I know some of it is in fun but there's always people that go too far. Everyone has different tastes in music, food, etc.
I was never crazy about Elvis. Not sure why. But I like to watch reaction videos of young people listening to older music. He actually was more than a pretty dude with good dance moves. His manager kept him in a box. I am grateful than he insisted on recording “In the Ghetto” because it meant so much to him. And like McGill said, “Trying to Get to You”!!! Then there’s the performer… “Suspicious Mind.” And don’t forget the Gospel with “How Great Thou Art.” Hate I didn’t appreciate him while he was alive.Short of girls losing it for a pretty man, I never saw the big draw for Elvis. He was (at one time) a pretty dude that could dance and sing other people's music. Come to think of it, he was pretty much a one-member boy band.
