100% AGREE! I hate when the board delves into these discussions - well, I don't mind the discussion part but hate the judgmental part - like, "such & such is trash." I know some of it is in fun but there's always people that go too far. Everyone has different tastes in music, food, etc. Finally after a long day at work and then church, I get to sit down to catch up, and there’s so many pages! Imagine my disappointment when y’all are arguing musical taste…again. LOL I remember my college music professor saying after he went over how the Beatles grew in 10 years what it took classical hundreds of years, and they led the way for many others that came after them, that there were always those that had to make themselves superior to whatever was popular and find ways to put it down. He said we like what we like, and we can also study and appreciate what is excellent without having to mix the two. So someone can have an amazing voice that people love to hear sing because it touches them even if that voice barely goes over an octave. And you can appreciate a singer that hits 4 octaves flawlessly without ever wanting to play a song of theirs again. Y’all brought that back to my memory from 1984!!!Music! “Rocky Top” is the best!
Or skip him and save those brain cells for a rainy day?Yesterday Swain was discussing Roman Harper’s “10-2” comment and said that he doesn’t think that’s realistic. Also said that if a Vol fan says “nah, I think 8 or 9 wins” then the fan police come out and say that they’re a NegaVol. Swain said that person is not being negative, he’s being realistic, and that’s better for the team. Ergo NegaVols are better fans FYI.
Also yesterday Tony B said the defense won’t be improved this year. Call in today to tell him why he’s wrong.
Happy Friday y’all.
greatest songwriter - Dylan and its not even close
greatest guitarist - Duane Allman, with Page, Gilmour and Hendrix behind
greatest band - Zeppelin with Floyd and Allman Bros close behind
last 20 years - My Morning Jacket, Radiohead, Avetts, White Stripes, Black keys, and many more that you will not hear on the radio. Hence the glory of Spotify.
Now...back to football.
You obviously havent listened to much Dylan. Nashville Skyline, Blood on the Tracks are a couple of albums to dispel that naive notion.
I wouldn't have gone to a Bob Dylan concert if they paid me to go. He should have been a poet and I appreciate his creativity, but if you played his music for a non biased person I think they'd probably find it awful. Only when one learns the prestige he has do they suddenly "get it." JMOBob Dylan may have been a good song writer but singing wise for me was painful to listen to. Singing through one's nose never comes out good. lol
I saw him in Memphis once. Glad I went, just to say I did. Meh…….I wouldn't have gone to a Bob Dylan concert if they paid me to go. Only when one learns the prestige he has do they suddenly "get it." JMO
Most underrated guitar player of all time: Terry Kath- Chicago. Their first album was insane and nothing like the music they’re known for. Hendrix said he was the only person better than him.greatest guitarist - Hendrix imo, lot of great ones out there, but Jimi was special.
greatest band - just really depends on your taste. I love Zeppelin, but I also love the Beatles, the Doors, the Beach Boys, Steve Miller Band, and a lot of others.
Growing up near Macon Ga in the heyday of Southern Rock we got to hear a lot of really good bands who were just starting out. Some of the best ones never really made it big.greatest songwriter - Dylan and its not even close
