Daddy was diagnosed w bladder CA in the early 90s. That, and a really nasty divorce, prompted me to move from Atlanta back to Kingsport. Dad finally ended up at UVA hospital for an ileal conduit. He dealt w it just fine for numerous years. Yeah, he had renal infections from time to time and had to be hospitalized for sepsis. Heads up: having worked in hospitals before, I know they are some of the nastiest places for immunosuppressed folks. Be vigilant, stay in the room with Tiffany. Watch out for housekeeping that comes in swinging a dirty mop and docs that don't wash their hands. Daddy got through it all bc we made sure everything was clean and safe. I don't know the exact procedure Tiffany will be going through, but I do know she has the support of a loving man and daughters.

We're officially booked. Cool thing happened with it. Tiffany will have a couple of days she can actually swim, so we were trying to rent something with a pool. The two places we had picked showed the dates available, but when we inquired about them, they weren't. There was a bunch of places on over in Ft Lauderdale, Hollywood beach, pompano, etc, but I wanted as close to the hospital as possible (within 10-15 miles). We found another without a pool in Pembroke pines, and decided to just go with it. After booking,the lady messaged Tiffany again, and said they were actually installing an above ground pool this week. It's above ground, but it's private, and she can enjoy it.

Is the surgery still scheduled for the 25th? I’d like to get her on my church prayer list, if that’s ok.

Our pastor had called today after church and said he wanted to have a special prayer tonight for Tiffany. It was just awesome, most everyone crying and hugging on us, made us feel better during all this stress. He had us gather at the altar, and everyone gathered around. After the prayer, people started just handing us money, we both tried telling them no, but they were literally stuffing it in my shirt pocket. Didn't think anything else about it until we got home. We both had said whatever it was, that it was being put up to specifically be used for the trip. She got an envelope, and it was $1,200. Believe me, the prayers and love people showed was what we both needed, but that was just an extra blessing that made us both feel unworthy of.

We have a half plan🤣. Leaving early next Sunday morning, and going to spend the night just over halfway. Gonna stay in crystal river, and meet our friends for dinner. Then get up and take 75 the rest of the way Monday, but probably stop around Naples and eat. Only about 30 minutes difference than driving straight through, which she doesn't want to do, and wants to see her friend before surgery.
