Ya, I didn't get an atheism vibe at all from AG. It was more like a modern day Greek pantheon drama.If so, it's a very poor one. That's not what I took away from it at all. To me, it was more about how the people take the gods (or God) with them wherever they go. IOW, all of these pantheons made it to the US because immigrants brought them. The new gods are a little weird but I took that as humans created new ones for the times we live in.
I thought Good Omens the book was about as fair a treatment of the Christian God as you could hope for from an atheist. It was actually kind of a profound hint at the sovereignty of God while clearly not being in favor of religion at all.
