If so, it's a very poor one. That's not what I took away from it at all. To me, it was more about how the people take the gods (or God) with them wherever they go. IOW, all of these pantheons made it to the US because immigrants brought them. The new gods are a little weird but I took that as humans created new ones for the times we live in.
Ya, I didn't get an atheism vibe at all from AG. It was more like a modern day Greek pantheon drama.

I thought Good Omens the book was about as fair a treatment of the Christian God as you could hope for from an atheist. It was actually kind of a profound hint at the sovereignty of God while clearly not being in favor of religion at all.

I don't think this is accurate. Half the country is actively dismantling the state. The other half bemoans the dysfunction of the state while not doing much to restore it or combat the other side.

Our current god is MONEY and capitalism.
Both sides in your statement being obsessed with the state was the point he was trying to make, I think. You can worship without love by how much of your life is consumed by it.

It only gets better. WOT and Hobbit/LOTR are the two best fantasy words IMO.
WoT was my all time favorite until a few years ago. I went back to reread it and either my taste had changed or I had read so much better since then and it didn't hold up anymore. The middle slog especially was brutal, never let a family member be your editor. That series should have been 3 books shorter at least.

Still, one of the seminal fantasy works of all time. Book 3 or 4, whichever one Rand walks through the rings, was one of my all time reading moments. Right up there with Enders Game when you find out it's real. Mind was totally blown.

Ignorant.

What was Lebron's record without Love, Kyrie, Wade, Bosh and Davis? If you don't see where I going with this, then don't bother replying.

He went to the finals at age 22 and was 8-5 in playoff series without any of those guys, LOL. Try again.

NR is probably the best modern era pitcher given the span of his career and success.

Name 5 better.
How far back are we talking about?

Since 1960? Gibson, Koufax, Maddux, Seaver, Clemens, Jenkins and a few more. Don't get me wrong. Awesome pitcher. Awesome career and he could throw some heat. But I think all of the guys I listed are better.

Well boys. I'm in trouble. Wife asked me to buy the family a puzzle. Should be here by Wednesday.

I can’t figure out which dog has achieved maximum chill, the one:

(A) dropping a deuce on the cobblestone
(B) squeezing the barnacle at the beach
(C) pinching a loaf with spectator inches away

There’s always one sicko that analyzes a dog’s movements. Still haven’t seen a white one in awhile.

I probably still agree but Malazan Book of The Fallen(Steven Erikson) and The Realm of The Elderlings.....specifically the three Fitz Farseer trilogies (by Robin Hobb) are equal if not better.
I've only read the first trilogy. Can't find the others on Libby and I don't want to buy them on Audible
