So that justifies you thinking the bible isn't reliable and you don't have to go to church how? I must be missing something *hear(just for you Behr)?
I said I’m at peace with my decision. There are several reasons you frighten me as a preacher, but your inability to grasp what’s literally told to you and instead redirect is the scariest by far.
The fundamental aspect of being a Christian is accepting of Jesus Christ and that he died for our sins. And worshiping and honoring him. And we are even told to bring our issues and our burdens to him. The church is just a place, it’s not the foundation of Christianity.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
