My mom was not an enthusiastic cook. To her credit, she also worked full-time. My folks were frugal. Mom would serve that slimy, canned asparagus. Yuck! It took many years before I would try the "real" stuff.

Scrambled eggs, sausage and gravy with biscuits and grits.

When I lived in Macon, I practically lived on scrambled eggs and grits.

Church choir summer break is here potluck party,so:

Sausage balls with cheddar and apples
Potato salad
KFC extra greasy
Spanakopita
Deviled eggs
Doritos with dip (that was different!)
Chocolate ice cream

Skipped the blackberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream

I somehow have to figure how to log this into the Fitbit…

We did good, though. We had people tell us that we helped them save their houses, etc., and others who got out of debt and stayed out. Interesting experience, and I met my husband that way, so…

Are the nuggets like fritters? I love corn fritters AND hushpuppies.

I looked online and they call them corn nuggets or corn fritters.....but they are Great!!

Everything was wonderful, and there was certainly nutritional diversity!

It is very weird to think of being back in the pews (not with the choir) for summer. At the moment, I have to say I’m loving it!

Oh, hell yeah they have bacon in Macon! There's a Waffle House on Zebulon Road, down from where my aunt lived. Barbara and I loved it. Mom, not so much. Just couldn't go there after it got dark outside.

It's messed up the way ingredients are listed bc Cayenne and hot sauce go into the dip. I used Frank's: I didn't want want to open new bottle of Tabasco. Used Dijon and coupla squirts of stone ground mustard to sub out the Poupon country. It's not too much trouble if you organize.
