Gun control debate (merged)

Should we get rid of DUI laws since the hardened drunks don't obey them? Do you think the DUI laws prevent some deaths?

With over 400 million guns out there I’m sure our gun laws prevent a lot of deaths. When a drunk driver kills someone they are held responsible for their actions, not what they had been drinking or the vehicle they was driving.

Gotta love that liberal logic. DUI laws are laws against people. They don't inact laws to ban cars or even alcohol. But when a bad does evil, they want to ban the tool.

What on earth could we need new government programs for?
To transition people off of welfare. A one year (max) program designed to help a person get the best employment possible and housing they can afford and then they are off of welfare at the end of that 12 month period - regardless.

I like the sound of it, on the surface.

Do we need a “program” for that though?

You realize the republicans tried this with an 8 year program and the democrats lost their minds over it.
