Uh, I have lived in the south for 56 years. Never heard the center fielder called the middle fielder. Middle infielders are second baseman and shortstop. so there's that.

No reason to bump his thread but since what’s his face wants to go to MSU and Mizell, despite his flirting, is UF bound and Devin Hyatt ain’t a take, I’d love to steal this kid from UK just because he’s their highest rated commit.

I played AYSO as a kid...right up until they gave us positions...I was OUT. I just wanted to run wild, rogue style.

I'm also pretty sure my childhood coach was more of a professional bodybuilder than a baseball guy. Dude was STACKED. He wore short cutoff jean shorts every day of his life. Great guy. A decade later I saw his son (teammate) at a bowling alley and he mentioned his dad had just "come out"...I tried so hard to act shocked 😂

Oh I've known since HS ball, but it's stuck with me anyway. I figure most get it, middle and center mean pretty much the same thing anyway...pure semantics. What's wild is he may have been winging it (idrk was just always my feeling) but we won the league in our final year and 3 of us made the HS team the following year. Heck of a coach regardless, his wonky dialect be damned 🤣

Yep. I followed then but maybe not quite as much. Some may not realize that we had a heck of a team that year. They were bringing Crochet along slowly to start the year, but he was a first round pitcher who made it up to the big leagues quickly. Could be talking about a 3rd straight weekend in the Supers.

The COVID was much better than last year's team imo
