Yet they took Mariupol in a month against one of Ukraine's better fighting forces, who were entrenched in an urban environment and Russia did so with equal numbers. So we can throw out the military incompetence theory.

Russia is also currently winning the economic war vs the West. So we can throw out the government incompetent theory (which is also doubly rich coming from someone with Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer leading their Federal government currently).

This little tidbit was especially hilarious

The unnamed soldier also said the Wagner mercenary group, considered to include some of Russia’s toughest fighters, refused to fight in the Izyum battle after watching Russian commanders order their soldiers to advance into Ukrainian fire. “Wagner mercenaries refused to assault the enemy positions in this area, saying they are not paid that much money,” he said.

If you are right and they retreat then I will have no problem admitting it. Just as I have had no problem in calling out Russian blunders in the past.

Lol. No they didn't. 3 Months. They started their offensive on February 24th there and finished around the end of May. Almost 3 months. Pray tell in Soviet Russia what are you taught when it comes to days in a month?

From what I gather, the church was destroyed by retreating Ukrainians. Severo is a battle, like Mariupol, that Russian forces seem to be currently decidedly winning and will likely quickly win. It is interesting and may ultimately be another Russian blunder, we'll see, that they didn't take the neighboring Lysychans'k first as it is higher ground and Ukrainian artillery can easily shell Severo from it.

All of this talk about NATO being able to run Russia out of Ukraine... if they had the will to do so. Now that is a very outrageous idea. Because on the one hand, we are being told that Russia is ethnically cleansing Ukraine and bombing them to the Stone Age and that the West stands united to defend the state of Ukraine... but, NATO doesn't have the will to do anything, even though they have the power to easily swat away the Russians in short order.

Make that make sense
