No I think it’s really about Pootin’s expansionist ideals and rebuilding the USSR under a new name. Oil is how it’s manifesting in the short term, and grain, but this is just basic Russian aggression plain and simple.
I disagree. It is always about money and power. What is Putin to gain from this or any subsequent invasion other than bleeding resources and I gotta admit, the CC advocates are giddy.
I was just watching this..
So you really don't think the 8 years of shelling and abuse of ethnic Russians/Russian speakers in Donbas on their border has anything to do with this? Or the threat of a coup in a neighboring country that inserted a pro-NATO regime in Kyiv that would threaten to put NATO assets in Ukraine?
If it was really a grab for resources, then explain why Russia just didn't grab Kazakhstan in January when the leadership there was in chaos?
Because the Russian government/military is incompetent. So you really don't think the 8 years of shelling and abuse of ethnic Russians/Russian speakers in Donbas on their border has anything to do with this? I'm simply asking the question. Seems like no one wants to acknowledge the fighting that went on for 8 years and the Ukrainians not abiding by the Minsk ceasefire agreements and no one seems to acknowledge that just like any other regional power, that Russia has security concerns. So instead of the reasons that have been stated repeatedly by Russia since 2014, we have to pull reasons out of speculation. You got it figured out Ras...just like all the rest of us peons
I stopped reading after "Per NBC".Per NBC:
Russia throwing 'all its reserves' at Severodonetsk
After Ukraine’s military recaptured parts of Severodonetsk in recent days, Luhansk Gov. Serhiy Haidai said Saturday that the Russian army had regrouped and was “throwing all its efforts, all its reserves” at the city.
Speaking on Ukrainian television, Haidai said that Russian troops were blowing up bridges across the Siverskyi Donets River in a bid to prevent reinforcements from entering the city.
For both sides, the fighting in the east in recent weeks has been one of the deadliest phases of the war. Ukraine has said it is losing 60 to 100 soldiers every day.
Per Al Jazeera:
Haidai said the progress made in the past two days shows that Ukraine may be able to hold off the Russian attack for that duration, the timeframe for the arrival of new, advanced Western weapons.
“As soon as we get a big amount of Western long-range weapons, we will push their artillery back … and then Russian infantry will run,” he said referring to the new arms aid announced by the Western allies.
Pootin and his Keystone Cops are so incompetent but yet we must still provide Ukraine more weapons. LMAO.I’ll translate. Your home boy Pootin and his Keystone Cops military are so damn incompetent that they couldn’t steam roll an obviously overmatched opponent and now simply can only keep pounding their face against the defenders fist. You’re welcome Moe![]()
