I get what ur saying but I think with it being so outta left field(no pun intended)it kinda got everyone off guard.I mean look at the ridiculous freak out here.If Coach would have said "Hey Evan is sick and out for the game today, will update you as we know more then u prob wouldn't have had all the speculation that happened.I mean when ur 5 year guy suddenly up and disappears the opening day of tourney its gonna raise a few flags. So all of yest evening the whole damn universe was tossing rumors n ebrrytning else they could out, hell even ESPN got in on the action.Thats literally all because of the vague response of Evan is out today and for the foreseeable future. This tweet caused the chaos and a simple Evan is sick would have saved us 24hrs of bs.When ur AD has to address the absence of ur catcher then someone dropped the ball.I mean I'm all for someone telling me how UT and the vagueness at tourney game time didn't cause this ruckus tho View attachment 461046
Scrolling catching up this afternoon scared the poop out of me.

I also wanted to share an update on his health. Last MRIs in the winter showed no measurable shrinkage whatsoever. It’s incredible he’s really even here with us today. Thank you, Lord, for doctors who are good stewards of the skills you’ve given them. Drew has finally gained some weight. About five pounds, and about where he was at pre-diagnosis. He is now a rising high school frosh that recently tried out for his cross-country team… I mean…wow.. how about that sentence.

True, but it's the more harmful rumors that I think they should address. The rumors about PEDs were already being floated last night. There could have easily been a statement from UT last night that this was absolutely not a PED/failed test situation. I know TV did say ER was sick, and people will point to that, but when a harmful rumor like a failed test is out there, I have no problem with UT stating that is absolutely not true ASAP.
TV should be focused on his team and the game. Not worrying about how the media and fans will speculate and get the rumor wheels churning. How could you predict a commentator on a national broadcast would fire off what he did?

The ONLY thing that I think could've/should've been done differently is making a short statement pregame that he is out with illness and his family needs privacy. They had time to say they'd address it postgame, then they could've said it pregame. But that's just my opinion.

That rumor popped up during the game, not before. Then it was said on air during the game. TV had no idea what was going around and how could he? And it would be very odd and sus for the university to say, "Hey! We aren't going to tell you wants going on but there were no failed drug tests! Guess again!" Then do that for every outlandish rumor.

I didn't say TV. I said UT. The university has plenty of people to nip these kinds of things in the bud. The athletic department should have been all over it. I don't fault TV in any way. He's a coach doing the job of a coach, just as he should be. But people within the AD could have addressed the "failed test" rumors a lot quicker.

Very scripted apology made during an elimination game nobody is watching midday on Saturday. I want the d*mn apology running on the ticker tape on every ESPN channel and an official ESPN statement.
Corrections/apologies never get the same attention/reaction as the lie itself does. That is how the media operates unfortunately.

Despite the media hype, the odds are probably a lot higher that Will Levis regresses as opposed to making a huge jump.
The hype is really weird too. His buzz went from a couple of guys saying "I'm keeping an eye on Levis to see how he develops" to "the future of football is here and his name is Will Levis"

There is no way that he is a first rounder.

Just hope our team is on a different plane of thought than fans. I remember when the Mike Honcho bat thing happened...we cooled off for a bit...only scored double digits in 1 of our next 10 games.

Need to be 100% focused on playing baseball, not lawsuits and media. But I figure us fans are making it a much bigger deal of this than the team or evan Evan is.

Jmo but let's support the team and not feed the trolls and their diversionary garbage. We're not far from the finish line...FOCUS troops!

The biggest concern should be losing their OC. There's no guarantee Stoops doesn't retake control of their offense back to their garbage style prior to Coen. Expecting him to take a jump under a new OC and without Wandale is a big ask.

Then again, it's certainly possible he goes high more on potential, mechanics, measurables or whatever, over elite production a la Daniel Jones.

Also...NFL front offices are notoriously bad at picking players. It's an art and science that no one has come close to perfecting yet.
