ESPN needs to be sued.

Honestly, it would be good for two reasons. Number one - it's defamation. And number two - the trend of reporting twitter as news, particularly as sourced news, has to effing end. So many articles and stories are solely twitter sourced. It's lazy and it's poor journalism. And it's unfortunately corrupted every aspect of journalism.

News gathering has been reduced to finding some idiot's twitter hot take on a subject (the more outlandish and bizarre the better) and writing a news article around it claiming it's a new trend or current opinion. Be sure to make it sound like a large portion of the general public believes in whatever it is rather than one or two twitter idiots. Rinse and repeat. It's disgusting.

🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 How I long for the days when Tennessee fans were known for this in football!
it's there. Sure we have been beaten down by Joey Freshwater, The doofus with the orange dog and crutches, Champion for life , cigar smokin' B!tch Jones and the too dumb to cheat or get the defense lined up Gump .

We're coming and Heupel is going to make the fans part of the team again.

For starters is that a HIPAA violation for an ESPN announcer to say that?

2, if that's totally false I hope Danny White gets the Vol lawyers on it asap.
It definitely isn’t a HIPAA violation and Russell or UT would likely have no legal recourse regarding defamation. Russell’s access to media would almost certainly classify him as a public figure for the purpose of defamation which would require demonstrating actual malice on the part of the announcers.

Evan Russell-- not failed drug test. That was rampant speculation, based on nothing legit. It's a health issue that ER didn't want to comment on publicly and UT had no responsibility to report. If ESPN has any ethics left, it should suspend those announcers for their unprofessional comments on air. Unacceptable.

UT is going to be conservative on disclosing SA health issues. That is UTAD policy. The SA or his/her family can comment themselves or release info to the media, but many do not and that is their choice. Similar to Rae Burrell this year-- she wanted to keep it vague and UT and KJH respected that.

Hey, I hope this isnt out of line, but with what youve heard, should we expect to see ER again this post season?

should 100% personal choice, as should most anything. there is absolutely no effing reason he needs to divulge info, we are owed nothing.

His last tweet and about 5 vol replies, cant believe nobody has brought up the salient point about bearing false witness

Most action his timeline will get ever coming today

Trying to get parents to help do the book or scoreboard at our son’s little league games is like pulling teeth. SaS want to come be resident bookkeeper for our squad?!???
I always used to volunteer to do it. Loved it. Would also volunteer to be assistant ref in soccer. My wife gave me grief because I never waited long when they asked. She said I used to be way too excited about it lol.

I think that depends on the medical evaluation and test results-- IDK what kind and I didn't ask. He could be cleared right away... or not. UT generally exercises an abundance of caution with SA health. I think this situation has been blown WAY out of proportion, based on no info at all-- from anywhere. This is what happens when SAs and schools are vague about health issues, but that is the family's prerogative and UT policy.
