I wonder if ESPN still uses Mike Keith for regional broadcasts and I wonder if Mike will be assigned to Knoxville?
I love Mike Keith. He was very close to the great John Ward and always held Mr. Ward in the highest regard. I know he has a great gig with the Titans but I have always wanted him to call more Vols games because he was a Ward protégé. It just seems like one of those things that needs to happen.

I’m convinced this Tennessee baseball team could sell out Neyland Stadium this weekend.
I know this is baseball season, but I couldn’t help but think what our helmets in football would look like with the baseball script as an alternate uniform option. I know the power T is tradition but I think the script would look 🔥

Edit: I found a template someone did and it does not disappoint. We need to make Danny and Josh make this happen!

Vols should be able to sleepwalk into the SR. If they get seriously tested in the R bracket, that's a really bad / worrisome sign.

Yeah, but no thanks. I don't like that at all.

GT’s top 3rd of their order is likely as good or better than anyone we’ve faced hitting wise this year. They can rake. Just hope they don’t have a lefty off-speed specialist. 😀🍊😀😀👍

That’s my thought…if I’m playing Tennessee, I’m throwing my best junk baller(s). Hopefully, we don’t face any (or at least many) of those going forward.

He’s also a great guy.

Remind me again how many runs we scored Saturday against UK?

We only had 2 through 7. Their first two pitchers had Tennessee’s number. They finally ran out of pitching, playing their 5th game in 4 days and 2nd of the day, but his point remains…junk ballers are tough on Tennessee.

Yeah, if you can throw an off speed curve or slider or sinker, especially one that digs the ground, we swing our arses off. Throw a fastball or leave something off speed high in the box, we going yard

That’s what baseball has become. Strikeout or home run. Same thing in basketball with the 3 point shot, nobody shoots the midrange anymore.

No they won’t be able to sleepwalk. Georgia Tech has the second best batting average in the country and has 110 home runs. They have a kid batting .418 on the season. Campbell has 111 home runs and has a starter with a 2.21 ERA. I’m all for having confidence in our team but let’s not act like it will be a cakewalk.

No it isn’t. It’s just baseball. Tennessee needed a grand slam in the 9th to avoid losing to Wright State last year and then cruised to Omaha. Arkansas lost in the Supers to NC State (after winning Game 1 20-2) and they probably had the best team in America.

The greatness of this team has done wonders to add new baseball fans to Volnation. But it has also given them the erroneous impression that this is normal for good teams. It’s not normal, even for the best of teams. And in baseball, slumps happen. Off games happen. Sometimes, it’s just a game and then the team recovers. Sometimes not. But judging what a baseball team will do based on one or two select games just doesn’t work. Truth is, any team can beat any other team on a given night.

Alabama St will be bringing their A game and would like nothing more than to pull a “St Peter’s” and knock us off our perch. They will be loose as a goose with ZERO pressure. Can’t take anyone lightly in the postseason.
Alabama St will be beat by 25 runs. SWAC and MEAC schools can’t ever win postseason games in almost any sport

The football thinking is strong. Here’s the analogy that I like to use. In football, if GA played. Vandy 10 times, GA would win all 10. If the best baseball team played the 75th ranked baseball team 10 times, they would still likely lose at least twice. Baseball is just a different game where an incredible pitching performance can shut down elite hitters. Scorched Line drives hit right at defenders are caught and weak bloops can drop for doubles.
